"This was our 3rd october half term trip to Turkey but the first to this area and we absolutely loved it!!! My criteria was - sun - beautiful surroundings - slides, beach, activities for our 13 year old and his friend - social life in evening for our 15 year old and her friend - also a secure resort where the kids COULDN'T walk into town without me knowing - all of these were met. We stayed in the Hotel at Pine Bay rather than the bungalows and like most Turkish hotel ratings you wouldn't compare it with a European 5 star but the quality of the furnishings in the room and the hotel generally where excellent. There was so much choice with the food that even my ultra fussy children were able to eat and as for me I was in 7th heaven! So many wonderful dishes and excellent quality. You could actually watch the bread and pizzas being made and put in the oven and then you got them as they came out bubbling and piping hot. We thought the quality of the local wine was fine and I loved the beer. The facilities for the kids were perfect, the location for me was breathtaking with glorious sunsets every evening and we didnt leave the resort the whole week not even to visit the market or town, we didnt need or want to. Everybody who books a holiday should read the description and reviews. Pine Bay is in Turkey so yes the food and drink will be different and wont appeal to everyone but my kids lived on pasta pizza burgers pancakes bread eggs fruit and icecream much the same as they would at home and were fine and me as I've said thought the food was FAB!. Yes there are steps and hills so the resort would not be suitable for people with walking difficulties but there is a courtesy shuttle which can ferry you about if you ask! and if you have hills you have VIEWS and the views here are stunning! Yes its 5 kilometres from the nearest town but with cheap buses running EVERY 5 MINUTES and cheap taxis outside the hotel door I cannot believe people moan. I can understand that some of the accomodation might have been tired but the resort is closing down this winter to be partially refurbished and everywhere I saw was fine anyway and so so clean, they never stop cleaning, day and night. A lot of the staff were very friendly and chatty, others with limited English, less so but nobody was rude. We will go back - all of our party of 6 loved it but we will probably go in the summer when its a bit more lively, by the end of our week most of the halftermers had gone so for the kids it went a little quiet."

"The room was pleasant and clean and, whilst we got the double bed we asked for, the mattress was so hard that we had sore hips every morning! The outdoor and pool area is great for kids and gives a pleasing view too. We ate in the restaurant once and it was OK. The staff were nice and friendly and very helpful, all speaking at least some English. What we found annoying were the 3 dogs that were the owners - each night they joined in the barking of dogs that went on into the early hors of the morning! The hotel's location is not good; it is down at the end of a road that has the Dolmus station on it and some vegetable wholesalers, a lot of waste ground and some residential apartment blocks. The nearest local shop is 500 metres and the first shop on the way into town is maybe 700 metres (if you call a charcoal seller a shop!) across an incredibly fast and busy dual carriageway and then a single carriageway road alongside it. I would have hated to take young children across it."

"As a family of six, we were very happy with the standard of Ephesia hotel. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful, the rooms were of a good standard and cleaned daily. The hotel is located on a clean beach and has a beautiful swimming pool and grounds. The concept of all inclusive was convenient and served us well - there was a good range of meals available throughout the day including icecream as well! We would definitely go back for a good family holiday."
