Steeped in history, this city hotel was built in 1704, and was originally a wayside inn. It offers a perfect setting in which to unwind or hold an informal business meeting. It is also fully capable of hosting civil ceremonies, wedding receptions, conferences and small business events, making it the ideal venue for all business and leisure needs. This traditional red brick Victorian hotel stands in its own gardens and there are 44 en-suite bedrooms available. It has a lobby with 24-hour reception, as well a restaurant and a cocktail bar. Internet access is available, as well as room service. Parking facilities are also available for guests arriving by car. Each room comes equipped with en suite bathroom, hairdryer, satellite television, radio, direct dial telephone, Internet access, tea and coffee facilities, ironing set, double bed and individually adjustable heating. "the hotel was much better than expected the staff were very friendly and helpful the food was good aswell"
Top Tip:
"the hotel was abot a 5min walk away from an entertainment complex which consisted of a bowling alley cinema and also various restaraunts which included a chinese buffet, fish and chips, pizza, american diner"

"The staff are FANTASTIC, very helpful, very attentive, I can highly rate them.
However the main function/reception area backs onto a garden which has half the rooms also looking on to it, so if there is a late night function (e.g. wedding) and you're not a part of it you do need to be on the other side of the hotel!
The room is OK, but as an air of faded grandeur (mucky and torn curtains, bath taps not functioning) and the walls are VERY thin, so you can hear your energetic neighbours quite clearly."
Top Tip:
"When booking, check if there is a function on, if so get a room on the opposite side of the hotel and take earplugs!"

"The Hotel was in an excellent position,approx 1 mile from the city centre with very good public transport.The Hotel was warm and clean.has a fine public bar with friendly staff.The breakfast of smoked haddock and poached egg was superb,and was worth staying in the hotel alone for."

Location

From the M5 South-West: leave the M5 at junction 3 and travel along the A456 (Hagley Road). Upon seeing the Strathallan Thistle Hotel on the left, continue for another 1/2 km through three sets of traffic lights. The hotel is on the left immediately past the first set of traffic lights after the Ivy Bush Public House.
