  • Top Tip:

"'Ryan's' was good as its a restaurant with a seperate bar, lovely service in the quiet but not uncomfortably busy restaurant with a more upbeat and lively feel to the bar, staff were lovely. also the castle and royal mile, definately worth a good wander round."

  • Ashley from Newtownabbey reviewed the The Roxburghe Edinburgh Hotel

  • "I was really pleased with the hotel, in a fantastic location. hopped off the airport bus at the west end stop in shandwick place and was checking in (about 3 hours before I really should have!!) about 5 min walk later. Super views of Charlotte Square. Rooms were good size and had everything you needed, breakfast was fine not the best variety I have ever seen but fresh and could be cooked to order. The Spa was fantastic but the restaurant limited in variety (but again very nice). The hotel had plenty of shops and bars etc around it and the views of the castle from the end of the street were amazing. It is literally a 2 min walk to princess street and george street is on the other side of the hotel."

  • Top Tip:

"A good tip if heading to the castle is go via the "back route" -ie up castle terrace or along king stables road- rather than down pricess street and up the mound or waverley bridge, this saves you having to cut back on yourself and reduces walking time by about 15 mins. however whilst in edinburgh its a pleasure to walk along admiring the buildings and history.

Also the dry ski slopes at hillend are about a 15 min taxi ride away and super value for something different."
