watch out at luxor airport return jouney they put the cases and hand luggage together then say you are over weight so then you have to pay extra."
Simon from Heswall, Wirral reviewed the Iberotel Luxor Hotel

"
Breakfast worth getting up for, but other meals well below par and overpriced. Soft drinks and water 10 times the shop rates. Rooms comfortable but shabby and ready for upgrade, staff do not listen!!!"
Valentine from St Leonards on Sea reviewed the Iberotel Luxor Hotel
"The rooms were comfortable and clean, but rather noisy if overlooking the street (no double glazing) great air conditioning - essential in June/July and August. Food was very good. Wonderful buffet breakfast, everything anyone could want and as much as you like. A Chinese and an Italian restaurant , both on site, were also excellent and cheap. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice pool area, actually moored on the Nile, so benefited from a cooling breeze and lovely views. We enjoyed our stay very much."
Top Tip:
"The local souk is well worth a visit - its behind the Luxor Temple, and go through the 'tourist' bit, before reaching the local market stalls."
Barbara from Preston reviewed the Iberotel Luxor Hotel
"Well run hotel, food great, staff brilliant, some of the soft furnishings a little tired but everywhere very clean, grounds well kept - would use again."
Top Tip:
"This hotel is on the Nile so no beach but they had 2 resteraunts in the grounds, one Chinese which I didn't try and one Italian which was very good. Luxor isn't the sort of place to go out in much though I know there are several English resteraunts in the area, I preferred the hotel I was in and many people visited it as an excursion for special dinners and entertainment."
PHILIP from LUTON reviewed the Iberotel Luxor Hotel
"staff were very good, very friendly. The breakfast buffet had a wide choice and set you up for the day.We did find that the evening meals although offered a wide choice they were very bland in taste. Overall the hotel, rooms grounds etc were spotless and would have no problem recomending it to others, the location is ideal for all your needs in Luxor,"
Top Tip:
"book your trips with jolleys travel in luxor when you arrive for more than half the price offered by the british tour operators. E.g balloon ride by tour operator in hotel at £80 got the same trip, same ballon company with Jolleys at £30"
Stephen from Barrow-in-Furness reviewed the Iberotel Luxor Hotel
"Public rooms very well decorated. Bedrooms in need of refurbishment. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice garden and lovely pool overlooking Nile although very cold."
Top Tip:
"Karnak travel very helpful in arranging trip to Cairo by air."
"Good hotel, breakfast choice ok with egg bar, nice marble floored bar, nile view rooms with good view. Chinese resataurant in grounds decent (good food in luxor very hard to find). Pool on pontoon in Nile is not heated. Room not too big with v small bathroom (hip bath and adjust the door when you use the toilet) but adequate."
Top Tip:
"Restaurants - Chinese as above worth trying - 7days7ways tedious english menu (tuna salad starter=some chopped dressed veg with a tin of tuna sat on top) but steak was excellent meat and perfectly cooked - sofra restaurant upstairs - very attractive but food a little below mediocre - el kebabgy good ambience and music has charcoal grill but that doesn't mean to say your kebab etc was cooked on it rather than just the kiychen - shish tawouk a lot like chicken shashlick is good anywhere but was overcooked and dry at el kebabagy but perfect at the metropolitan (nr luxor temple) at lunch time (previous 2 and 3 other establishments right next to the river are part of the same company). Tried two mixed grills at kebabagy and sofra but poor at both. Sofra has many mezze the foul was good the houmous had v little garlic or lemon juice or tahini so was crap. Mt mixed grill had burnt on one side liver, a lamb cutlet (desribed as a rack) with 0.2 oz of meat 2 vvv salty bits of kofta, but the salad mezze was good so choose wisely. "
david from hailsham reviewed the Iberotel Luxor Hotel
"this hotel is central, clean and good value. the staff are friendly and helpfull.
A nile view room is a must as others face the road and will be noisy, the small extra cost is well worth it for the view alone.
The all inclusive option is worth considering as drinks and snacks in hotel are quite costly and the food is good. "

"hsbc bank is right next door.
2 minutes down the road, you can get the trips for much cheaper.
in the area i would only reccommend the iberotel and the winter palace."
Helena from Coventry reviewed the Iberotel Luxor Hotel
"We have previously stayed at the Isis and the Shereton in Luxor and this by far the best of the three. We would have no hesitation in booking again. The pool was fab ans it floated in the Nile. The staff could not do enough for us. The hotel also have it's own resurant boat which we went on twice. "
Top Tip:
"The Lantern is a good restaurant. But in Luxor you cannot beat going into downtown luxor to shop with the locals. Late in the evening is the best time. There is no hassle from the shops owners."
G J from Hampshire reviewed the Iberotel Luxor Hotel
"The people at the hotel were excellent, they couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.
The food was varied & of good quality with plenty of choice, there was something for everyone every day.
The hotel itself was quite old, although clean & well maintained.
The Nile Cruise on the hotel boat day excurssion was worth while.
Be prepared for plenty of activity from the vessels alongside the pool area, & take your sunset pictures from the pool side at dusk.
We would go again, but perhaps in a 'plusher' hotel"

Cameron from East Kilbride reviewed the Iberotel Luxor Hotel
"A perfectly functional 4 star hotel with an army of staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. The food was both edible and safe, the hotel even go to the length of only using filtered water to make ice cubes.
On the downside, the bathrooms, whilst elegantly tiled and decorated, are small but then if you've got a Nile side room the view should more than make up for that.
The location is also a blessing and curse, everything you'd want or need is within walking distance but you will hear traffic and occasional noises if you're facing the road bordering the hotel. "
Top Tip:
"If you step outside, expect to be hassled, it can be amusing at first but gets irritating after a while. Be prepared to say 'no' quite a bit. "
Sheila from Merseyside reviewed the Iberotel Luxor Hotel
"Amenities at hotel were excellent , a beautiful pool area kinda floating on the Nile. Plenty choices where food and beverages are concerned and the locality is very central to Luxor and only few mins walk from Luxor Temple and all local shopping."
Top Tip:
"Top Tip for me would be Habiba a nice family night out south of Movenpick Hotel. Local cuisine, local music (Live) close to bridge over nile."
David from Sandhurst reviewed the Iberotel Luxor Hotel
"All the hotel staff and amenities were excellent and there was everything there to make the holiday a really enjoyable experience. The quality of the food in the restaurant was also extremely good - the one slight criticism I might have was that the menu tended to be 'international' whereas i would have preferred more authentic local cuisine."
Top Tip:
"I tended to eat at the hotel and the other 2 restaurants that were adjacent. Make the most of the trips - they are really good value e.g,. Valley of the Kings for £30."
