"Imperial Borj Hotel has seen better days. The rooms although kept clean during our stay were not upto the standard expected for the price paid. The bathroom being the main one negleted , ie: Light switches were grimy with years of use by greasy fingers. Toilet and bathroom floor again grimy and needs uptodate floor cleaners on a regular basis however, the towels were changed daily as were the bedsheets. The pool and it's surrounding area was kept spotless and was cleaned daily. If they paid as much attention to the rooms as they do to the pool it would be a very clean hotel. To sum up all this hotel needs is some tender loving care and a touch of refurbishment. Talking to the staff, I have sympathy with them because some of their past clientel have abused the hotel in many ways. So why throw good money after bad? There of course is a reciprocal answer.... If you don't keep your hotel upto standard you will only attract the lower class of visitor who will continue to add to the downward spiral.
The above did not affect our holiday for the 7 days spent there but, should I return to Marrakech I would choose another hotel."
Top Tip:
"The restaurants in the Medina are also dour and do not look inviting but do not be put off. the food is excellent. The famed tagines being very good in The Agrana and excellent in the Chez Chegrounie. I suggest you try a meal at one of the food stalls in the centre of the Medina and although nice tasting our experience was you get what you pay for. The difference between the stalls and the restaurants is noticeable, both in price and quality."

Hotel Details - Imperial Borj Hotel

The Imperial Borj Hotel is located in the heart of the residential area of Hivernage very close to the ramparts, facing the Koutoubia and a few minutes walk from the makets and the renowned Jeema el Fna square. All rooms are of a good size and are very well furnished with pastel and grey soft furnishings. Guests can choose between three restaurants, enjoy Moroccan cuisine at "La Rose des Sables" or try the pool side restaurant, a perfect setting to appreciate a gastronomic delight under the shade of century old eucalyptus trees.

Taxi direct costs c. 50 MAD and take about 10 minutes

Parking:
Uncovered car parking is free for in house guests.

Restaurant:
The "Eucalyptus" restaurant serves gastronomic cuisine. The "Hivernage" serves International dishes and "Rose Des Sable" serves traditional Moroccan dishes. They are open for lunch from 12.30pm to 3.00pm and dinner from 7.30pm to 11.00.
