  • walter jonathan from hull reviewed the Isaak Hotel

  • "Pleasantly surprised. Some reviews were a bit bleak and I, now, wonder if they stayed at the Isaak. It was very good value for money, extremely friendly, and I would definitely return. Many there were on their 9th year. As for the building work, it certainly neither noisey or dusty and we hardly noticed it at all. Nothing was too much trouble for either Alex or George, everything was clean. A great little place that I would recommend to anyone any age."

  • Top Tip:

"We ate in some great restaurants, but found ourslves returning to Ifalos(100m down the road), and for lunch found The Blue Bay at the top of the beach very good quality and value for money."

  • ROSEMARY from MAIDSTONE reviewed the Isaak Hotel

  • "THIS WAS NOT MY CHOSEN HOTEL - MY ORIGINAL ONE WAS OVER BOOKED WHICH WAS INCONVENIENT TO SAY THE LEAST.

HOWEVER, THE NARCISSOS IS A NICE HOTEL, THE POOL IS LOVELY AND IT'S SET BACK SLIGHTLY FROM A MAIN- ISH ROAD SO IT'S QUIET. IT BACKS ONTO HILLS SO IS PROTETED FROM ANY WIND. FOOD WAS REASONABLE, NOT GREAT BUT OK (I STAYED SELF CATERING SO ONLY ATE IN THE RESTAURANT ONCE.)

IT'S ABOUT 2-3KM FROM PROTARAS ITSELF AND YOU HAVE TO GET A TAXI INTO TOWN. I AM QUITE FIT BUT IT WAS TOO FAR FOR ME TO WALK. TWO SUPERMARKETS AT ENTRANCE TO HOTEL CAR PARK - VERY CONVENIENT. NO OTHER SHOPS THO SO YOU REALLY NEED TO GET INTO TOWN TO DO ANY SHOPPING AT ALL.

ROOM WAS CLEAN, NICE BALCONY, WELL EQUIPPED KITCHEN AREA, AIR CON, TV ETC. BATHROOM COULD HAVE DONE WITH BETTER LIGHTING, IN FACT THE WHOLE ROOM/S COULD HAVE DONE WITH THAT. ENERGY SAVING BULBS EVERYWHERE AND THEY GIVE POOR LIGHT. FLOORS WERE VERY CLEAN AS WAS THE BATH, SINK & WC.

A FAIR ROOM FOR A FAIR PRICE"

  • Top Tip:

"THERE IS A HIRE SHOP VERY CLOSE BY WHERE YOU CAN HIRE PUSH BIKES, MOTOR BIKES AND FAB LITTLE BUGGIES. NO IDEA HOW MUCH THE LATTER WERE TO HIRE BUT THEY LOOKED GREAT FUN. DRIVE, BIKE OR WALK ALONG THE CLIFF TOPS TO KONOSS BAY FOR A SMALL SECLUDED BEACH, ONE CAFE/RESTAURANT AND VARIOUS WATER SPORTS ACTIVITIES. tHE CYPRIOTS GO HERE AT WEEKENDS. TURQUOISE BLUE SEA AND SOFT SAND. WONDERFUL!"

  • "Hotel/Apart ISAAC 05/08/08 – 15/08/08
The hotel ISAAC is located just outside the town of Protaras in a small village called Pernera quieter than Protaras but lively enough. A pleasant 200m stroll from the centre and 150m from the nearest good beach. A small supermarket, clothes shop, diving centre and 2 restaurants are within 50m.

We arrived at 7am and had no problems in checking in. We were a day later than our booking and informed TravelRepublic of this and asked them to inform the Hotel. On arrival they were fully aware of the details.

The reception area is clean and spacious with some useful information on activities etc. A sofa area, tables and chairs were well laid out.

Check in was simple and were immediately informed of a safe deposit box in the reception area with ample room for passports, money and jewellery for a 10eu deposit.

The lift was broken when we arrived but was fixed by the evening. They informed us that the aircon remote was missing but would be replaced by the afternoon which it was.

The room (No:12) was spacious and well laid out, separate bedroom with dressing table, mirror, 2 bedside draw units, suitcase table, aircon unit. The aricon unit did make a noise when left on all night, this again was fixed promptly. The wardrobe draw unit could be a bit on the small side if you travel with the kitchen sink but adequate considering the sparse amount of clothes needed in this climate. Bathroom was adequate for our needs, very functional, good flow of water at all times despite at the time of our stay Cyprus being in short supply of water. The living/kitchenette area was very spacious, 4 person sofa bed, two chairs and 2 tables. Large breakfast bar with 4 chairs, sink, worktop and units all in good condition. 2 ring elec cooker and fridge that easily kept ice cubes and water frozen.

Nice pool/area plenty of loungers. Be aware that towels are laid out early as in most holiday resorts. Also the sun does disappear behind the hotel about 5-6pm on our stay dates.
Nice cooked breakfast if desired or continental variations served from 8:30am. They have a barbeque on Saturday nights. The bar is well stocked and nicely tucked in the corner, bar stools or table and chairs available aplenty. Very friendly barman who happened to have spent 2 years in Enfield N London (our location). The music is a bit loud but ok.

Very satisfied with Travel Republic and the Isaac Hotel/Apartments"

"The hotel ISAAC is located just outside the town of Protaras in a small village called Pernera quieter than Protaras but lively enough. A pleasant 200m stroll from the centre and 150m from the nearest good beach. A small supermarket, clothes shop, diving centre and 2 restaurants are within 50m. The village is much quieter than bustling Protaras but has plenty of bars and restaurants incl Karaoke and singing impersonators. The Ranch bar is the best quality one for drinks, service and impersonators at the time of our visit. Knights bar is also good for food and drinks. You can hire a buggy, moped, motorbikes, bikes from the centre as well. Well worth doing.
They are in the process of building a seafront illuminated concrete path from Pernera to Protars which at the moment is a rough stone track, very pleasant 20mins walk at the time but take a torch if doing it at night. Its an easy walk and avoids the 7eu one way cab fare or 1.50eu hourly bus ride (stops at just past 11pm).

There is also a travel office 50m from the hotel that can arrange many activities during your stay. MedTravel run by a petite South African lady who used to be a Thomson rep in the area for some 12 years before setting up here own business. We used her to book a Red open top bus ride around the immediate area which was very informative and a great intro at the beginning your holiday. Villages, churches, monasteries, the green line dividing Cypriots and Turks (an unbelievable site and storey), 30eu for a 2 hr guided tour by a couple of Englishmen that converted their imported double decker bus in June08. A Jeep Safari into the Troodos Mountains is a must, very good jeep ride with some off-road trailing, visiting copper mines, monasteries, local town squares for refreshment, a local Meze lunch and internal countryside you would never find even if hiring a car. The local boat trip is also a good day out with plenty of swimming, snorkelling and diving off the cliffs of Cape Greco if you desire and a sea view of Famagusta the ghost town (listen to the red bus commentary at the beginning of your hols).

Very satisfied with Travel Republic and the Isaac Hotel/Apartments."

  • "Great apartments, very close to the beach and all local pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The apartment itself was very clean and spacious."

  • Top Tip:

"The apartments are in the Penera area which has a nice selection of bars and restaurants. However, just a 15 minute walk down the coastal path or 5 minutes in a taxi you can get to Protaras itself, which is a bit more lively and more choice. Great for a change!"

  • "the hotel was basic but really lovely there is a restaurant in the hotel which is family run which hold special themed nights. the beach was fantastic just 3 to 5 min walk depending on which one you go to."

  • Top Tip:

"we found a really nice beach which you can rent sun beds and umbrella for 2 euros each !!!! which is called polla costa beach and restaurant. you have to go on the all day boat trip which was fantastic. if you wish to go to nicosia capital of cyprus be aware that it is 5 to 10 degrees hotter and is really hot.if you have any health prob be aware of the docs they are very pushy and claim lots of money of you."
