"Friendly and efficient staff. Very clean room and sheets and towels changed regularly. Kept awake one night by owner's dog barking. Received complaint very sympathetically and no further disturbance occurred. Stunning views of pool gardens and bay from balcony. Have recommened hotel to friends and relatives."

"Pleasant, comfortable & well presented hotel accomodation. Both proprietor(s) & staff were helpful & professional in their attitude to their guests."

"The Kavadaros Hotel was very clean and peaceful - just what we needed.
There was nowhere to walk to from the hotel in the evenings other than down to the beach.
I was surprised at the Half board option of a set menu, this I had never come across before but I suppose it made me try things I probably would not have gone for.
There is no way this is only 300 metres from the beach and we thought the charge of 10 euros per day for sunbeds and brolly was ridiculous. Also it was quite a walk from the taverna to the sandy part of the beach and there was nothing there in the way of drinks loos etc. Also the taverna on the beach on the right as you go down was very expensive.
We went to a lot of beaches and ended up going to the beach at Trapasaki (sorry I can't remember the spelling) this was lovely and sandy and you could walk out a long way before you were out of your depth - a lot of the beaches tend to be rocky/shingly."

"Stunning views of sea and mountain from hotel rooms.
You need a car, as there are no restaurants within walking distance."

"First class hotel, stunning setting, spotlessly clean and lovely staff. Lots of amenities, tennis, pool, darts and table-tennis. Large pool with ample sunbeds. Nice room (ask for main building) with sea and mountain views. Fridge, T.V., and hairdryer. A/C and safe (payable locally). Transport is essential as apart from St. Thomas Beach about 500 metres downhill, there is NOTHING within a 2 km radius. With transport, however, it is a wonderful base."

"Superb !!! Stayed at the Karavados Beach Hotel for 1 week in July and although only rated 3 star much better than some 5 star hotels we have stayed in before.
The owners & staff were fantastic and could not do enough to help.
Ideal position for a chill out, relaxing, get away from it all holiday.
The pool & garden areas were all spotless as were the rooms with clean towels & sheets changed every day.
We hired a car through the hotel for 3 days and managed to see quite a bit of this beautiful Island and plan to return next year too see a lot more.
We will be definately be returning to the Karavados Beach Hotel next time for 2 weeks.
This the third time I have booked through Travel Republic and as usual everything went without a hitch."

"Beautiful hotel and surrounding area. Nice hotel restaurant and bar. Too quiet maybe for young people and if you are unable to walk up steps and hills not suitable for older people. Car essential. Travelled around the Island and felt that our hotel and surrounding area was the nicest. Would definately choose this hotel again. Hotel very clean, and area beautiful. Hotel staff all very friendly and helpful. Hotel bus goes into the Capital every Tues and Friday morning. If you don't want a car then taxis are available to order."

"Hotel is located about 8-10 kilometers from Kefalonia airport. However, it is quite a way from anything so a car is essential if you want to go out and about.
The hotel was very clean and the room adequate. The scenery from the balcony is quite spectacular. Shower wasn't very nice but it did work. It was very hot so we needed air conditioning (which is not included in the price) and is charged as an extra at 5 Euros per day. Apart from the bar and TV in the evening, there was no other form entertainment available. Pool was plenty big enough for the size of the hotel and the staff were all very nice and friendly. This hotel is perfect if you want a real quite and lazy holiday.
We went half board -Breakfast (cold only) was basic and quite boring. Evening meal was from the restaurant set menu. There was no choice at all and also quite boring. Problem with this is that if you don't like the meal, you need to go out and find somewhere to eat or go hungry! We ate out 4 nights out of 7.
The nearby beach wasn't my idea of fun. The walk was down hill all the way to get to it and was more pebbles and rocks than sand. Then it was a steep up hill trek back up. I would not recommend that an elderly or unfit person attemp the walk there or back. However, there are some fantastic beaches elsewhere on the island.
All in all, you only get what you pay for and for a 3 star rated hotel, it wasn't bad."

"very nice and comfortable hotel. Not suitable for people without a car as it is quite far from anything (apart from the beach only a few hundred meters away)."

"Beautiful setting. Very quiet. The pool was great and it was lovely to be able to swim alone sometimes. Plenty of sunbeds too. At the beginning of our holiday the children's pool was empty so if we had had children that would have been disappointing. We liked the games area - pool and table tennis.
Just a short walk down a steep hill we found a small beach area with sunbeds and 3 bar/tavernas which was great at lunchtime. One taverna only open in the evenings though, so it would have been dark walking back at night. A car is a must in order to see the island. We had one for 3 days and travelled around quite a lot. I was a bit worried about driving but it was easy, the roads are quiet.
The room had 3 single beds so not a great amount of space but OK. We needed the airconditioning so had to pay extra for it. I asked for tea making facilities and was given a kettle to use so that was very useful (hairdryer also).
Breakfasts were good. There was a choice of fruit, cereals, bread, cheese, cold meat and sometimes eggs. The dining room was very nice - you could eat inside or out. As we chose half board our evening meal was included and, although the food was fine we had no choice at all on the set menu. We could have paid extra and eaten a la carte but it was a little disappointing not to have had any choice. The restaurant was quiet in the evening so the service was good."

"Very clean, very friendly and quiet. Perfect."

"Quiet location near to very small beach area of St Thomas. The hotel has everything for a quiet holiday but if you want to go out and about a lot, hire a car. Taxi's can work out expensive, as they come out from the island capitol Argostoli. There are no local Tavernas within easy walking distance but the hotel catering is very good and the Half Board option (although limited) is excellent value. A good 'a la carte' menu is also available. Wine and food all reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly and accommodating and rooms etc. clean. Really good value holiday."

"Wonderful family service, all the hotel has just been completey re-furnished, stunning setting very quiet, a car a must but fantastic place to stay."
