"hotel was very spread out amongst large area. Very steep hill to get to room from reception area, not suitable for the elderly or those having to push pushchairs, unless they have a room at the lower level
Room had excellent facilitites for a hotel, very large comfortable bed for one.
Great views
Water park facilitites again at the top of the very steep hill

Food not very good if you are a vegitarian they like to put meat into almost everything

very quiet area, evening entertainment not brilliant, finishes at 11.00
To see the island you really need to get around by a car"Top Tip:
"if you want to get up and down the you can ask at reception and they will drive you as the steep incline and decline can be dangerous in my opinion
you can walk into the town of Lexouri along the beech takes approx 45 minutes - 1 hour, nice walk, this is where are plenty of cafe's and the harbour

"The hotel is excellent with fantastic views and entertainment for the family. However it is built into the hillside and unsuitable for the elderly and anyone with a disabilty. It is very issolated the town is a taxi drive away costing 10 euros each way."

"The hotel was very clean and the main pool area was superb. However, the other pool with the water park/slides was a bit of a trek.
Overall the hotel was excellent, although I think they were running down for the end of the season so the choice of food started to decline."Top Tip:

"I nearly had a heart attack getting to our room each day. It did get easier but for the great unfit it iS a problem. More warning needed!
As you know, Kefalonia Gardens isn't near anywhere so it's a good thing that the facilities are good. We had a hire car so went for a trip or two round the island. Beautiful. We went to Kef for a wedding so had a really good time"Kefalonia Garden Village Hotel check-in Date:

"Make sure that when you get reception to book a taxi, you get it in writing. We missed a trip we had paid for because the cab never turned up and no one would admit whose fault it was, so we ended up paying for a trip we never had!!!!"

"the accomodation was excellent the food even better, only problem is access to some of the accomodation and the water park. the walk to any of the accomodation above level 2 was steep and anything above 3 was extremely steep and sometimes dangerous especially if there was any rain"

"This hotel is new and of excellent quality, the staff are curtious and helpful, the food was very good, with an excellent choice. The rooms taht we had were of a good size and very clean. The hotel is situated to the south of Lixouri and is sign posted well enough once you get out of Lixouri. (some signs are placed in awkward places but once you recognise them there ok). If any one is travelling by car, the ferry across the bay is cheap enough.There are a couple of downsides, the hotel is built into the side of a steep mountain, if you have children in a push chair make sure you have a room in the 1st two blocks, we were on the 5th level, it certainly got me fit after a few days, parking is also an issue at the hotel, but overall we enjoyed our stay"
Top Tip:

"Excellent hotel, lovely rooms with large beds, towels and bedlinen changed daily.
Fab pool and waterpark. Excellent food. Fantastic entertainments team who put on volleyball, football, tabletennis,waterpolo etc during the day and entertainment for kids in the Panorama bar until 9pm. Adequate beach, not quite the superb beach asadvertised, very rocky but a few sections of sand to enable you to get into the sea. Only negative comments are:- as the hotel is built on a hill Rooms 300-600 are extremely steep, there are steps on the right hand side of the hotel, but the left side just has a very steep ramp and can is very dangerous. Also, the waterpark is at the back of the hotel, but is well worth the climb. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, if you want a very hot relaxing holiday, this is for you, but you will need a car to get to the local beaches, into Lixouri or to tour the island. One tip, if you are getting a taxi to the hotel it takes a good hour from the airport and the fare is 55 Euros. A better bet is o get the taxi to the port in Argostoli and catch the ferry (goes every half an hour) to Lixouri. Very good value 2 Euros per person and 5 Euros for the car, you can then get a taxi to the hotel - only 4kms."Top Tip:

"Very steep hills to the room,asked to be moved,bearing in mind l had a baby with me and a buggy to push to the top of the very steep hill was told no cos they were fully booked,it was obvious they were not.No prizes given out for competitions.Was charget 17cents for a phone call l didn't make l found that very petty.Beach very dirty and unfinished."

Hotel Details - Kefalonia Garden Village Hotel
Kefalonia Garden Village is an ideal holiday place for holidays with apartments situated at the beautiful Agios Ioannis in Kefalonia and located above Agios Ioannis beach overlooking the Argostoli gulf which offers a beautiful view. The hotel is not recommended to any guests with walking difficulties due to the hotels location on top of a hill.
Accommodation
All rooms sleep up to 4 persons and have feature a separate bedroom with twin beds and lounge area with 2 sofa beds. The rooms also include a bath, hydra massage shower, air conditioning, hair dryer, satellite TV, mini fridge, microwave, telephone, personal safe, kettle, and furnished balcony. In addition, superior rooms include bathrobes, slippers, beach towels, soft drinks water, beer and a grocery pack in mini bar upon arrival.
Food & Beverage
Within Kefalonia Garden Village there is a main buffet restaurant with show cooking, poolside snack bar, beach bar and lobby bar.
All Inclusive Food & Drinks
The AI programme consists of breakfast (07:30-10:00), lunch (12:30-15:00) and dinner (19:00-21:30), all buffet style, served in the main restaurant. During lunch & dinner post-mix soft drinks & juices, tap water, local wine by the carafe and draught beer are offered. Snacks such as two types of sandwiches and two types of hot snacks are available from 10:00-12:30, 15:00-19:00 & 21:30-23:00 at the pool bar as well as tea & coffee time with cake from 17:00-18:00. Guests can have ice cream by the scoop (minimum of three flavours) from 10:00-12:30 & 15:00-19:00 at the pool bar. Locally produced alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks like post-mix soft drinks & juices, tap water, wine by the carafe, draught beer, spirits (ouzo, brandy, aperitifs, whiskey, rum, vodka, gin, tequila), five alcoholic cocktails, two kids cocktails, filter coffee, tea and hot chocolate are served at the main bar (18:00-23:00), the pool bar (10:00-20:00) and the roof garden bar (20:00-23:00).
Sports & Leisure
Kefalonia Garden Village offers the enjoyment of an outdoor main pool, a separate childrens pool and a pool side area with sunbeds and parasols. The hotel also offers a gymnasium, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room, spa, beauty salon and massage facility. In addition, from the 14th June, guests will be offered the use of a lagoon style pool (with 5 waterslides, sunlounger terrace and pool bar), a tennis court, basketball/volleyball court, 5-a-side soccer pitch, childrens mini-club and childrens playground. Please note that the beach in the proximity of the hotel is quite rocky in places and guests are advised to use of jelly shoes when entering the sea, particularly the younger guests.

Kefalonia is one from the seven islands of the Ionian Sea which enchants the visitor with the natural beauties of the landscape and the extraordinary beaches. Kefalonia Garden Village is set in the area overlooking the beach. There is also post office, bank, bus station and various shops. The airport is 42 km away from hotel. There is a ferry boat from Lixouri to Argostoli operating once every hour between 08.30 and 23.00 (guests will need to take a taxi from the hotel to Lixouri and vice versa).
