"the metropole hotel in alexandria is a very nice hotel located 30 seconds walk from the coast. however i had to change rooms twice in the two days i was staying because of air conditioning not working - a common problem in Egypt summertime! otherwise staff service was very good."
Top Tip:
"if you don't want to risk local delicacies, KFC and Mcdonalds are literally straight outside the hotel, you can't miss them. however i did not come across any good restaurants as such."

The rooms vary in size but are mainly medium-sized and kept in good condition. Rooms are tastefully decorated in a traditional manner, with antique-style furniture.

The restaurant is located off the lobby, again furnished in antique style. It serves a rich buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This is an historic, stone building.

This one of the oldest hotels in Egypt, and is full of antiques. ME 07/08
