"Rooms were fine. Food not very good. Restaurant and lounge area not big enough for number of people staying! Road outside was flooded and almost impassable! Only saw the sun for two and a half days, rained solid for three and a half days! "

"We were met at Burgas Airport by the driver of the Resort Hopper, a Bulgarian man who didn`t speak one word of English. The lack of communication added another 30 + minutes to our travelling time which was frustrating and not the best of starts. That out of the way, the Hotel was of a good standard with helpful friendly staff, most of which had a good grasp of the English language which was appreciated. Clean towels via a daily Room Service were provided. We went half-board for 2 weeks and really tried to get into the local cuisine but at the end of week 1, we couldn`t handle the menu at the hotel any longer, it was uninspiring and repetative."

"The Hotel is very modern, large rooms, ours had two balconys, they do have ground floor rooms but the outlook from them isnt great. The Hotel is in a built up area, so the view from the pool isnt so great but no busy roads or nightclubs right next to the hotel so it is peaceful. The rooms are very large with great funky bathrooms, the cleaners are great folding towels into various animals or shapes. We went on the half board option, which was cheaper than some self catering options in Bulgaria. The breakfast is ok, bacon (streaky) hot dog style sausages, scambled egg, beans etc, cold buffet, fruit and cereal. The hot food is always luke warm. Evening meals are poor to be honest there is a que at 6pm as many dishes arent replaced once they run out. Again the food is luke warm. We would go there again as it was so cheap and the room was great the staff were friendly and it was clean and very good value. We had 10 out of 14 breakfasts but only 5 evening meals, but it is so cheap and nice to eat out over there it was difficult to spend money. So book Hotel Lion if you are on a budget, you want a nice room and are happy eating out, you have a family and arent to fussy about food. The hotel is within 5 mins walk from one of the biggest straight nighclubs and 10 mins from the only gay bar (Habibi) it 10 mins from the beach and the promenade. Its close to bus stops, the pavements nearby are awful and although the hotel has disability access you may have difficulty with the paths all over Sunny Beach. good resort to relax, if you are a more discerning traveler the Majestic is the best hotel the further East you go on the promenade the more upmarket you go. "

"Lovely hotel with some very helpful staff. We stayed with our two year old and found the pool area very good for kids. There are two small children's pools and the shallow end of the main two larger pools are also okay. The room was large with air conditioning that did struggle slightly in the high temperatures. The hotel was clean and well maintained. It is about a five minute walk to the beach and the main stretch of bars and restaurants - which are plentiful. Beware being stung on prices though at bars near or on the beach. Also most of the toilets will charge 0.5 leva for the use of."

"I found the hotel to be very clean the pools were tended to every night and the pool furniture every morning the staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The entertainment at the hotel was slightly lacking as there were not many things arranged for night but there was plenty to do around the hotel. I would recomend this hotel to my friends and familly as good value and it is just 10 mins from the beach."
