MARNIE from LONDON reviewed the Creative Mexicana Resort Hotel
"Hotel was very clean with not an insect in sight which really is the main thing I wanted. The room was fine and was near the pool but still quiet. I booked a twin room to have more space but as I was only 1 person so they insisted that I couldn't have a twin room which was a bit annoying. Otherwise the hotel is fine if you aren't going to spend much time there."

"This hotel is definitely not a four star although the room was kept clean every day and the pool area was satisfactory. Thank goodness we only stayed B&B as the food was appalling I felt sorry for anyone on all inclusive as the food was so bad and there were so many restrictions.
A definite plus for it was the friendly pool staff, the cleaner and the pool bar staff who we enjoyed chatting to daily. They do work hard and are poorly paid. We tipped various staff daily and feel we got that bit extra attention making us very comfortable.

Top Tip:
"The nearest place for restaurants was Naama Bay approx 3 miles away cheap in a taxi approx £3 stirling. We had excellent food in several restaurants i.e Pomodoro Italian Restaurant, The Mexican restaurant and The Thai/ Indian restaurant called the Dragon House.
Do not expect nice golden sandy beaches as they are mostly shail and pebble with jetty's leading into the sea enabling swimming and snorkling."

"The restaurant staff at the hotel were very friendly. We had bed and breakfast and the breakfast consisted of a good range of different foods. However, when on excursions the reception staff had some communication problems which resulted in us not receiving sufficient breakfast to take away. Overall, the hotel was very good and exceeded my expectations. "
Top Tip:
"The cabs wil try and rip you off, so when you find a cab driver who takes you somewhere for a good price, take their number and use them throughout your holiday. It will save constantly haggling. "

"All the staff were really helpful and friendly and made loads of fuss over our two young children. The rooms are cleaned every day and sheets and towells are changed everyday too. We stayed all inclusive, the food was ok not as bad as we thought it would be after reading some reviews. The children only had one ice cream a day between 4 and 5 which was ridiculous and if you wanted a snack from the pool bar you had to pay considering it was all inclusive not a lot was included."

"The Hotels sandy beach isn't the best it's man made and there's not a lot of sand . Not alot of entertainment in the evenings but there is Karaoke on a thursday at 10.30 a belly dancer on a Sunday at 10.30. Don't go to Picasso's cafe up the road I was really ill after eating there. Don't go to the Old Market as you get hassled all the time to go in the shops and it's the same thing in every shop. Naama bay was nice we payed £3 each way and used the hotel taxi's all the time Anni one of the drivers was really nice and took us everywhere we wanted to go. You must go to the new Aqua Park it's fab £16.50 for adults and £14 for kids it's about 10 minutes in a taxi. We went on the quads that was great fun £15 for a double qaud and you are on them for 2 hours if you go buy the head scarfs we weren't going to bother but glad we did!!!!"

Kathryn from Leeds reviewed the Creative Mexicana Resort Hotel
"Initially the hotel looked fine - nothing special but fine and the room was clean, however in the light of day the hotel and its "all inclusive" proved to be a little on the shoddy side. The food was shockingly bad, the best meal was breakfast - fresh omelet or fried eggs or pancakes everyday, cereals however on one occasion the milk was a little suspect and toast, however for both lunch and dinner there was the same dishes of rice and beef and chicken everyday, same choice of fresh pasta every day and the salad bar was open every meal from breakfast through to dinner - not being changed between just left out. There was an Italian and a steak house restaurant in the hotel as well as a Pizza corner, in other hotels in Sharm with this same set up they allow you to eat as part of the All Inclusive once a week in these hotels but at the Mexicana this was not the case and you had to pay a "supplement", I say it like this because it was more expensive to eat in the Italian in the hotel than it was to pay for a taxi into Naama bay and pay for an Italian meal there, however saying that the Pizza's at the Pizza corner was nice and cheap at £2.00.
The other elements of the "All Inclusive" nature of the hotel was also lacking - one of the bars was a pay bar and this one was next to the little pool and reception so if you wanted a drink by this pool or to sit in the air conditioned area in reception you would have to get a drink and walk across the complex to drink it - not really acceptable.
The management of the hotel and the way that it was run for guests was also lacking in the extreme! They did a constant stock check throughout the day, a guy was always sat at the end of the bar marking down what drinks were given out, this wouldn't be a problem however it did make you feel quite consious of how many drinks you was getting when they passed the comment "another Fanta", also on more than one occasion when i got to the bar there was over 10 people in the queue waiting to be served with only one member of bar staff serving - the young man was obviously flustered and having to do everything including leaving the guests when he needed to go get some ice, at the same time there was the accountant sat at the end of the bar making his notes about what drinks was given out and when i asked him why he wasn't able to help the young waiter he said that it wasn't his job, there was also a manager walking about also not helping serve guests he also pointed out that it was not his job either! it was like the guests were an after thought and if they didn't get served they wouldn't be able to drink as much and they would save money. Very very poorly managed.
upon speaking to the 3 of the waiters and one of the chefs, the only staff members i could find in the multi lingual hotel that could speak english enough to have a conversation and not just say "hello" or "finished" when clearing you plate, also commented that the hotel was very poor and they would choose to not stay there if they was a guest, that said it all for me really!!!! "
Top Tip:
"The taxi's to Naama Bay or the old town which was only £3.00. Pomodora in Naama Bay is a fantastic Italian - cheaper than the hotel but slightly more expensive than other restaurants in town - well worth it though! "

"This hotel is always clean and tidy and the showers always hot. The service at the pool was sometimes slow and the music can be quite loud so I wouldn't recommend it for older people if they want to spend a lot of time by the pool. There is a free bus to a sandy beach and one to a coral beach where the snorkelling is amazing. We saw a hawshead turtle there which made my holiday. There is so much to see and do here and I have stayed at teh hotel before and would stay again. All the staff are very friendly and helpful."
Top Tip:
"The free bus takes you to Palma beach which is great for snorkelling and seeing the marine life. The best restaurant is at The Camel bar in Naama Bay. Don't pay more than 25 egyptian pounds for a taxi from the hotel to Naama Bay. The food here never disappoints."

"Room was beautiful, comfortable, peaceful, linen and towels changed every day. Food was just OK - boring after two or three days. Pool was good - also very clean as were all areas of the hotel. Staff were all good, friendly, polite and very helpful."
Top Tip:
"Cross the road to face oncoming traffic to avoid being plagued by every car stopping to offer you something!! This gets really annoying, so it's best to cross over. Don't go into any of the perfumed oils shops as they are SO pushy - they offer free samples and then try to bully you into buying at greatly inflated rates. "

"The staff were amazing at the hotel and couldn't do enough for us. If you decide to tip then you receive exceptional service for about £2! The location of the hotel is suitable for the newly built mall and you can get a taxi into Naama Bay for £3 and a taxi to the old market will cost around £2.
The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels were left in the room every day. They even provide a fresh towel for the pool every day free of charge.
As we were bed and breakfast I cannot comment on the lunch and evening meals but the breakfast was good with a varied selection of breakfast food."
Top Tip:
"The Columbus restaurant was fantastic value and was only around a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Naama Bay is great for nightlife with something for everyone."

"We were very happy with the hotel. We were upgraded to a lovely suite on arrival. All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food was not particularly good but there was plenty to chose from. Courtesy buses took you to two different beaches where the soft drinks were free for all inclusive guests. The snorkelling from beach was excellent."
Top Tip:
"Only went for a week of sun so did not travel far apart from a day trip to St Catherine's monastery. It was a long bus journey for a short time at the site. Went on one snorkelling trip which was excellent. All inclusive so did not eat out except on trips and at the beach."

"Perfect holidays. Hotel is very clean (rooms, corridors, pools, everywhere), friendly and polite staff. They were very helpful, too. WiFi for free in reception area (very nice place). Enough to say: more than expected, would recommend!!!"
Top Tip:
"I would recommend Il Mercato mall (by taxi 5LE which is approx 50p, by walk 20 minutes), full of shops, cafes, restaurants (Starbucks, Costa, Body Shop, BananaMoon, Timberland, Nike, Adidas, MacDonald, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Virgin and many others) and something for families - playgrounds. On the way to Il Mercato, there is dolphinarium - Dolphinella and many diving centres (eg. Ocean College in Ocean Club hotel, The Wave in Tivoli, Sinai Scuba in Sun Set).
Pharmacy and small shop are 10 meters from main entrance."

"the two questions we said no to were not a problem at all tho as the hotel provided a shuttle bus to these places. The hotel, staff and country all helped to ensure we had a great holiday. Glad we didn't go 'all inclusive' as these people seemed much less satified but we couldn't fault it at all."
Top Tip:
"A little restaurant over the road called Bluu - lovely homemade food, cheap and a great service - recommend a visit and they will also deliver their food to the hotel as a change (at lunchtime??)
Not so close to the hotel but Onions in Naama Bay gave equally good food, service and prices."

"The hotel was very clean and tidy, the staff were very friendly, always making us laugh, they were helpful when needed, and the food was good nothing amazing, but..all very nice, hot and varied from day to day. We tried their steakhouse menu, and this was very good! very tasty!
Our room was cleaned every day, and done very thoughtfully! the only slight disappointment was that the shower was a bit tired and basic. BUT... the bathroom was clean and not too small.
The 2 pools were clean and very refreshing! although our idea of heated pool is not the same as theirs! but after trying both pools, the smaller one was warmer than the other! and because it was so warm we didnt mind this at all.
All in all we would definately go there again, if we wanted a quiet holiday. as there is not that much to do without travelling out at least 15mins in a taxi. But it was a great hotel and friendly staff."
Top Tip:
"There was a great go karting track a 2 minute walk from the hotel, turn left out of the hotel and walk along, and it is on the right next to a out door play area.
And a HASSLE FREE shop/supermarket less than a 100yards on the right as you come out of the hotel walk along the path."

"Was very happy with the hotel - clean rooms, great shower and en-suite, lots of space. Pools clean with enough beds. Staff very friendly and helpful. Landscaping very pretty. Can't fault it (we were on bed & board basis and others said the food wasn't great)"
Top Tip:
"Try Picasso's cafe at the top of the road - 2 mins walk huge tasty portions.
DONT buy anything in the supermarket next to Picasso's - complete rip off. Crisps £4 a pack!! Do any shopping (drinks, juices, crisps etc) in Old Sharm - taxi ride only £2. Go to the hotel's coral beach -much nicer than the sandy one."

"The hotel was great, but you had to be at breakfast by 9.30am other wise by 10.00am they were taking it away. The staff were very good could not do enough for you. I give it top marks. You need to have a word with your rep, if you did not book trips with him he did'nt want to know you.Did nothing for us"
Top Tip:
"Go out the hotel turn left and cross road a couple of hundard yards down the road is Blur very good food. and if you keep going to the super market on the corner down the side of it is picasso which is very good also they have fish and chips the batter is great. Next to picasso's is Is go carting. If you go to the main road and cross it is T2 which shows all the sport from uk very good
