  • Linda from London reviewed the Muses Hotel

  • "the rooms depended on how far back they were in the complex. Ours was way back which I found difficult as I have FM and had to walk each morning down a slope for breakfast in the rain. Our request to be moved to a room nearer was declined. Was not very helpful on reception. No TV or hairdryer in rooms, although was very clean and cleaners we very good."

  • Top Tip:

"The Village and Elias are two excellent restaurants, and Koukounaries beach is amazing an idea beach for families with small children as very safe"

  • "We have stayed at Muses a number of times and find it good value for money. Very clean and with good domestic service. We hope to stay there again in the future."

  • Top Tip:

"All the beaches on Skiathos are good. They range from large beaches with many facilities to quiet secluded ones with few people."

  • Richard from Halifax reviewed the Muses Hotel

  • "Great little hotel, basic and clean. Staff friendly and very helpful. Maid service everday.
The breakfasts were ok and pretty standard but the meal we had in the Hotel Restaurant was good and the service excellent.
We found the hotels situation in Koukounaries a little bit too far out of Skiathos Town but that said the local bus service was excellent and cheap with a bust stop virtually outside the front of the hotel.
Location is quiet but it is a great place to go for a relaxing bargain break."

  • Top Tip:

"Restaurant to avoid: Georges Taverna not good at all and the Chinese / Indian Restaurant - it does both which was confusing (don't have the onion baji's).
Great restaurant in the Old Port in Skiathos Town called En Plo right on the sea front on the way to the club strip. Service and food excellent plus fairly reasonable on price (it must be good as the local Orthodox priest was eating there).
If you get a taxi from the airport when you get there it is a bit of a bun fight and will cost you 18 - 19 Euro's, the same trip not on an airport run though will cost you about 8 Euro's (so be warned)."

  • JOHN MARTIN from KILBIRNIE. reviewed the Muses Hotel

  • "This was our 4th visit to Skiathos and our 3rd time staying at Muses Hotel Koukanaries . The hotel is very unusual in its layout, rather than one or two buildings it is layed out in vila type blocks along a central pathway through the well kept garden each block consisits of 5 bedrooms 3 on the ground level and 2 on the upper level all with balconies this layout ensures a very peacefull stay. The staff are excellent and very friendly ,also the standard of cleaning and laundry changes was excellent . While certainly not a 5 star hotel Muses offers everything you could whish for from a decent 3 star Greek Hotel. We will certainly be returning next year."

  • Top Tip:

"Best restraunt in Koukanaries is with out doubt Strafillo, set in a garden you are dinning underneath a canopy of trees with lights strung through them, the food and service is excellent, and Costa the Head Waiter will make you very welcome. The best beach to visit is Small Banna Beach , it is an unoficial Naturisit beach and not for the faint hearted or pruddish, but a fantastic beach and well worth the rough hike."

  • Top Tip:

"The hotel restaurants (Hera) has a lovely range of dishes on the menu and everything is cooked to a high standard It is one of the best in the area of Koukounaries. Big Banana Beach is very busy and small Banana is for naturist only and they are both within walking distance"

  • "I am not sure if I would give the hotel realy three stars. Defenetly not on the breakfast wich is just average. But they deseve it for sure for cleanlines and more than that on the friendliness. Their restaurant is also among the best I have tried there."

  • PHILIP from CHESTERFIELD reviewed the Muses Hotel

  • "Rooms were kept very clean, with a daily cleaning service. Very friendly staff. Good location. Very good onsite restaurant. Only thing l was not happy about was although l went at end of season, the bar ran out of beer even though the restaurant had plenty, and the bar closed down on the Wednesday even though people were still there until Monday."

  • John from Bedlington reviewed the Muses Hotel

  • "The hotel is run by very friendly staff who will do everything possible to make your stay very pleasant. There is daily room service and towels and bed linen are changed every other day.
There is a very good restaurant and bar at the hotel and the buffet breakfasts are excellent too.
We will definately consider returning to this hotel."

  • Top Tip:

"Lots of great beaches within easy walking distance. Mandraki and Elios beaches are recommended. Both a 25 minute walk through lovely woodland and almost deserted. They are lovely sandy beaches with tavernas and sunbeds.
Georges taverna is also recommended. All food is home cooked and produce is local too. This is a traditional Greek family taverna and therefore has none of the frills of the restaurants. As a result the menu is quite basic. It is also a little on the pricy side but if you are looking for a traditional no frills meal then check out Georges taverna.
Captain Michaelis' taverna and the Strofilia restaurant are also recommended."

  • S from bolton reviewed the Muses Hotel

  • "Excellent value for 3 * rating. Basic but clean. Friendly. Breakfast ok, limited choice but good quality and quantity. Rooms a little on the small side. Nice grounds. Quiet location. 15 minute walk to a great beach. Easy access to the local bus. No entertainment at the hotel but plenty of alternative options.
    Would stay there again."

  • Top Tip:

"Cut through the lagoon area to get to the harbour end of the beach. The best area to get a sunbed. Only 8 Euros for 2 beds + shade. Get the bus to Skiathos town, bus every 15 mins, cost 1.5 Euros and only taked 30 minutes."

  • "Rooms cleaned every day and bed linen and towels changed every other day, which is very unusual for Greece but a nice surprise.Could not fault anything about Muses even the food. Bus service was excellent too every 20 mins and last bus was at 12.30 am."

  • Top Tip:

"Panorama next door to Muses was very good food, Muses restaurant was good too.Troulos beach and koukanaries beach was great. There were alot of beautiful beaches to many to mention but are clearly mentioned on the local maps, and buses stop there, all bus stops are numbered so it is easy to find them."

  • m from hounslow reviewed the Muses Hotel

  • "The hotel was basic. We initially booked 4/5 months in advance so that we would get two rooms next to each other however we were placed in two rooms that were in oposite sides of the hotel! Pool was clean however very small. The pic on the web can be a bit misleading. You have to pay for air con and the fridge and there is no TV! The hotel was very basic however it was clean and comfortable. We were lucky that we got a good sized room, my friends on the other hand recieved the room which had a tiny bathroom where the sink nearly overlaps the shower."

  • Top Tip:

"The banana beach is great, only a short walk from the hotel.
There are also a few taverns along the way which serve lovely greek food. There is one restaurant with which is outdoors and is covered with vine trees and lights, its always busy and you usually have to wait for a table, however the food is great and worth waiting for. Cant rem the name!"

  • "Fantastic location on bus route with stop nearby. Easy walk to Koukounaries beach and access to Banana and Little Bnana beaches. Bus can give access into Skiathos town or any of the other many beaches. As 2nd stop on the route in to town had no problem getting a place on the bus, it id get busy at popular times. Hotel pool & bar area very pleasant & welcome after the walk back fromthe beach. Taverna attached to the hotel served excellent meals and plenty of othe choice nearby ."

  • Ruth from Cardiff reviewed the Muses Hotel

  • "The rooms are fairly basic as you would expect. However they are very clean and peaceful and the staff are really friendly. The hotel taverna seemed to do the most authentic Greek food compared to the others nearby, and we chose to eat there alot. The hotel itself was in a nice location being quite close to the beach and the lake opposite. I'd happily stay here again."
