"Busy hotel in good location. Food in restaurants of average quality and very expensive. Avoid buffet meals (except breakfast). We both had severe travellers' diarrhea hours after a buffet dinner which included a seafood salad. Was the food left over from lunchtime?"

"The hotel itself was very nice, with a great pool and rooftop bar which has suberb views over the Nile. The city-side room was probably quieter than the Nile view rooms (which cost more), but have terrible views; but you don't tend to spend much time in the room anyway, so not that important. The two down points - reception staff (apart from one trainee) were very rude and dismissive of us. They always served local people before us without fail, and always with a smile - get to us and it was like we were just being annoying and wasting their time. Second down point is the fact that the doorman got us a taxi for a trip to the pyramids for 150LE - he didn't tell us that the taxi driver would then take us to a specific place where he earns commission, and this place then railroads you into another shop 'while the horses are prepared' etc etc. Not necessarily Hilton's fault I appreciate, and obviously some naivety on our part what with just arriving in Egypt, but it felt like I had trusted an employee of Hilton to help us out but we then got screwed over. So my tip on that is don't take the first offer and don't accept the trip until you know EXACTLY whats involved."

"An excellent stay, the staff really make the effort to help and assist you. They also take the time to get to know the children's names and greet you in the morning."

"The hotel I booked (Hilton Nile) was supposed to come with free transfers to and from the airport. We were told that there was a Tarot Tours agency located at the airport to take care of our transfers. There was no agency there and we were forced (after wasting a good 2-3hrs, not to mention telephone bills) to arrange our own transport.
Very dissapointed."

"the hotel did everything in their power to make our stay more enjoyable."

"Stayed for 3 nights in March 08 with wife and two kids as part of a longer stay in Egypt. Good location - just 50 meters from the Egyptian museum, on the nile (separated from it by a dual carrageway that is alomst impossible to cross due to manic traffic), short walk to downtown, 15 minute taxi drive to the pyramids. Hotel is old and it shows. Smallish room. Good bathroom / shower. Food was OK but certainly not extra-ordinary (generally we did not like Egyptian cooking anyway)."

"The triple room was two single beds and they put in a portable bed for the third bed. This was not what we expected from a 5 star hotel. Everything else was fine."

"very good services.
The Front Desk Manager Anna Lisa Rohm deserves compliments for her excelent work in dealing with visitors. Very pleasent person."

"This Hilton I feel needs to be modernised but the staff where very friendly.
Regards
maria"

"Superb site and a lovely hotel at excellent rates. Next time we shall splurge and have a room with the Nile view! The pool is excellent and is heated in the cooler months. Very handy for the Egyptian Museum with Tutankhamen etc."
