"Pleasant hotel, lovely pool. Our room was very basic but clean. The shower was erratic and most of the time there was no hot water. On the whole the staff are friendly and helpful. One bone of contention is that the hotel has a draconian rule on food and drink. They will not allow ANYTHING to be brought into the hotel as all food and drink must be purchased from them. Fair enough you may think, but his even extended to bottled water and ours was confiscated. As you are unable to drink the tap water in Turkey I found this very disappointing."

"The first impressions on arriving at the hotel, the location..I thought oh, whats this going to be like, but, in this case first impressions don't count, the hotel was a little gem. The management and staff were friendly and helpful, I enjoyed my stay there so much that, I hope to go back again in 2009."
Top Tip:
"If you want to do any excursions, try asking the reception first, otherwise, there is a good tourist excursion place through Hadrians Gate. Walk through the gate,up the stairs and the shop is just on the left hand side. You can email the shop on hayetkil@hotmail.com, managers name is Hussan."

"We had the best rooms according the stay with 3 children. They just loved the pool and the rooms we had.

Another comment which has nothing to do with Oscar. By chance I had a letter which was supposed to arrive at: Mr. Pamela Comley 147 London Road Kingston
ref. 175378/P89GEM. Hope this is enough."

"Fes restaurant near Kaleici has good food and excellent service. Specialise in fish."

"The male receptionist has to be sued for the stress he created for my breastfeeding wife - as a result of this she lost the milk and my 8 month old son is now forced to switch to food that is too early for him to consume. On top of that this rudest and most unhelpful person robbed us - we decided to leave earlier and the refund was categorically refused, even though the rooms were hired out on the same day.

I will be searching for ways to sue him as he put my wife and my baby into a health hazard situation and must be prosecuted for this.

Also, the hygiene level is below the lowest - there were at least 5 cats in the hotel walking on the dining tables and leaving their excrements everywhere. This hotel looks more like a cats toilet then a place for a holiday."
Top Tip:
"The ad lied about the beach being close - nothing like that. The beach is at least 5 km away and it does not have any sand, just stones and dirty water. Absolutely awful experience, the worst of all times."

"Oscar Hotel is a small oasis situated in the heart of the city. 5 minutes walk from Hadrian's Gate and all the shops on Ataturk Caddesi. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice pool area. Good breakfast and Great dinner! Room and shower was clean and comfortable, but quite small. Good value for money. Recommended for city breaks."
Top Tip:
"A 6 hour boat trip around the Fedrian coast is good way to see Antalya, but look around or haggle the price to get the best value."

"The location is perfect for a turist but for parking itis horrible. Very difficult to find at to park.
Pool clean and the service good.
The dinner is not available every night. But you can get a sandwich."

Property Summary

Location

The rooms are small sized decorated in a local style. All have satellite television, shower room with hair dryer.

The restaurant is medium sized with an outdoor area where during summer months barbecues are held. There is a bar under the orange trees.

This is a low rise konak style house.

This is a very good valued property in the heart of the city, with a medium sized swimming pool and a children's pool covered by orange trees. (06/08 SB)
