"This hotel was advertised as a 4 star, but was more to an english 2-3 star max. The staff were great, but the food was canteen style, alcoholic spirits and wine undrinkable, hotel bar not very inviting, and thats if you could get a seat! Swimming pool and hot tub freezing. New years eve the hotel made a great effort with food and entertainment, but everything else was not to the standard we would have expected."

"Food was awful, spent 3 days in bed with vomiting and diarrhoea. Permanently hassled around the pool with staff trying to sell massages, hair braiding, parties, beauty treatments, they wouldn't take no for an answer and were extremely persistent, they'd even wake you up if you were sleeping."

"The hotel was very pretty but there was an awful lot wrong. The food being the main problem. Both my husband and I were ill for most of the holiday. I personally spent 2 days in bed! This effectively ruined my holiday! We stayed in a beach bungalow which was nice but the bathroom left a lot to be desired! The shower was cold for the first 2 days and the plug hole was a massive big gaping hole in the floor (which scared my 2 years old!) and let out an awful stink!
It would only take a few little things to make this hotel nicer but the food needs a complete overhaul! We visited the Movenpick across the road because i had relatives staying there - it was stunning! If I went back to El Gouna I would stay at the Movenpick without a doubt! Incidentally, we have been back 4 days and are still very poorly and have had to consult a GP!"

"great value for the money we paid, in a great setting nice views and an excellent on site dive centre Dive connections"

"We where originally allocated a room over the lagoon which was inpractical as we had to get on a boat to access main hotel where all facilities where.; this room was well past its best and we were moved after 3 nights to main building, this room was much better. The majority of staff were helpful and friendly but the men trying to sell the beauty treatments by the pool were intrusive and would not take no for an answer to the degree that after a while you felt harrassed.
Except for once or twice the food was luke warm and on the nights when it was served to you the portions were miniscule. The food was regularly taken away before the allocated meal times ended and it was often difficult to get clean crockery and cutlery once it had run out. I realise this is a negative report and feel sorry to have to report these things, i have been to Egypt 3 times now and love it and its people and i plan to return again but i could not recommend this hotel."

"We had a look at one or two other rooms on the site which were far nicer than the one we were given. The novelty of having to cross the lagoon each morning by boat in order to get to the main resort area soon became a nuisance."

"wonderful holiday. The cross lagoon ferry levied a charge to cross from the hotel to the other side whic we felt was not good as this was an all inclusive holiday. there are not quite enough sun beds. the lagoon bar and cafeteria was never open while we were there, which was a bit of a nuisance as we had to keep going back to the main hotel for water to drink etc. the staff were really friendly and helpful. room was clean and very large. over all a very good holiday
p.s. diving lessons in the pool were a bit disruptive as you could not get into the pool at one very large area of the pool and as it is very hot you need to be able to do this. is there somewhere else they could do this."

"Attentive and courteous staff - nothing's too much trouble. We made some great friends!
Beachfront bungalows are amazing .
The Cave Disco was fun - but very loud!!!
Cheapest way to travel round the resort was by Tuk Tuk - 50p to Downtown for 3 adults."
