"The friendliness of the staff is the greatest feature of this place. Yes its a bit out of the way, the food is a tad repetitive and the drinks don't come in beig enough glasses, but what do you expect for £130!! My girlfriend and I don't do all inclusive, and only picked it, as we would expect to pay more than that for accomodation, and as we were there for a wedding, everyone else stayed there, so we just went out to a few restaurants when we fancied a change from the buffet. Everyone was always smiling, and very welcoming. No complaints."
Top Tip:
"Take the motoconchos as the most cost effective way to Cabarete, taxi's are 10 dollars, you can get them for 1 or 2! Not for the safety conscious mind you. And definitely do the Waterfalls trip, great fun!"

This hotel is part on the Amhsa Marina Hotels & Resorts. It is located 3 km from the picturesque town of Cabarete. Paraiso del Sol offers a simple All Inclusive hotel with activities for both adults and children. The hotel is divided in two sections Camino del Sol & Paraiso del Sol.

Accommodation

The 189 standard rooms in the Camino del Sol section are equipped with one double bed, ceiling fan and most of these have air conditioning, cable TV and telephone. All standard rooms have terrace or balcony (limited number) with a garden view. The 300 rooms in the Paraiso del Sol section are equipped with queen size beds, air conditioning, cable TV, hair dryer (upon request), telephone, mini-fridge, terrace or balcony. All superior rooms have garden or pool view. Use of the in room safety deposit box in both room types incurs an extra charge, paid locally. Connecting rooms are available upon request.

All Inclusive Food & Drinks

The AI programme consists of breakfast (07:00-10:30), lunch (12:30-14:30) and dinner (18:30-22:00), all buffet style, served in the Mariposa restaurant, the Los Almendros or the La Choza restaurant. Continental breakfast is offered at the Los Almendros between 10:30 & 12:00. Alternative for lunch is the pool grill serving BBQ, sandwiches & fruit (12:00-16:00) and for dinner the Michelangelo A la Carte (Italian, 18:30-22:00, upon reservation). During meals wine is offered. Tea time is from 16:00-17:00. Unlimited domestic drinks (both alcoholic & non-alcoholic) are served between 10:30 & 17:00 at the beach bar & the Paraiso bar as well as from 10:30-01:00 at the pool bar Los Almendros.

All Inclusive Sports & Entertainment

Sport facilities at the hotel include three swimming pools with two childrens pools, Kikos kids club (including a supervised activities programme), bicycles, boccia, volleyball, billiards, ping pong, table games, tennis during the day, aerobics at the pool, boogie board, kayaks, ½ hour surfing & kite surfing lessons, daily activities programmes & night entertainment, discotheques (on weekends) and free shuttle service to Cabarete hotel.

Chargeable Extras

Safety deposit boxes in rooms, 24-hrs medical service, telecommunication services, baby sitter, tour desk, gift shop, internet room, scuba diving school, surfing, kite surfing, body board, horseback riding, floodlit tennis and special dishes in A la Carte restaurant are available at a charge.

The resort offers a free shuttle service to Cabarete, 24 hour reception, and foreign currency exchange service.

Nearby

You can find championship 18-hole golf courses at Playa Grande (45 min drive) and at Playa Dorada, Puerto Plata (40 min drive). Cabarete Beach, considered the best beach worldwide for kite-boarding, surfing and windsurfing is 3 km from hotel (shuttle service available). Cabaretes nightlife is amazing with numerous bars and restaurants right on the beach (at weekends often there are live bands in some bars).

Useful Information on Distances

The hotel is located 25 km form the airport of General Gregorio Luperon in Puerto Plata (POP). As mentioned above, the resort is 3 km from the centre of Cabarete and is also 15 minutes from Sosua.
