"The hotel is very comfortable and in an excellent position on the cliff top near the beach. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Very good selection of food at the buffet breakfast.
Dinner was good but we have had better in other four star hotels. The price of house wine and water were much more than we normally pay in similar hotels. No inexpensive Portuguese style restaurants within walking distance but a taxi to Armacao de Pera is reasonable, especially for four people."Pestana Viking Hotel check-in Date:

"We had an excellent time at The Pestana Viking in Armacao de Pera, our room was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good with a great selection, there are quite a few restaurants nearby but it is a very quiet place and the town is a good 30 minute walk away better o get a bus or taxi. I would recommend this hotel."

"Arrived to be told hotel was overbooked. Patched off to Pestana Levante, which should no longer be classed as 4*. Room far too small for family of 3. After much persuading, we were finally moved to Pestana Viking after 3.5 days of 6 night stay."

"hotel was clean and the reception staff were outstanding.the pool was great and the location absolutely spectacular.breakfast was delicious however the restaurants in the evening were expensive and lacking in variety.the hotel ahd access to a beautiful beach and bus links to the nearest town.this was necessary as there was nothing on offer really outside the hotel."

"We stayed in this hotel last year and everything was great so we decided to stay there again. The evening meals this year were very disappointing compared to last year (if you don't eat veal and duck it's not for you) and we wouldn't book half board again as we had to eat out."

"Everything was quite simply excellent from parking the car in the UK, flying with Easy Jet, to the UK to the hotel and back again. The hotel was great...staff were very friendly...breakfasts were even more than we expected......adjacaent beaches fantastic..................any hiccups (really too small to mention) were instantly remedied by the hotel housekeeper.......only minor criticism which we passed to the hotel, was if you want to watch TV, except for news, learn Portuguese, German or Russian......we quite simply had a fantastic break...would not only go to the same hotel again.....but would unreservedly recommend Travel Republic to anyone and will be booking again with you again next time around....(*-*)"

"Budget car rentals just 100yd from the hotel..cheap, cheerful and reliable, 4 days for the price of three this time of year..had a Citroen C3 with full insurance for just over 100 Euros...very economical indeed......

"This Hotel is the BEST HOTEL I have EVER SEEN, & I have been to many, it is SUPERB, ranging from its beautiful location to its welcoming staff, I couldn't believe how sweet they were, they made us feel so good by been there, & the rooms are wonderful with a private balcony, it was just MAGICAL, would go there again & again, its wonderful................."

"very quiet and relaxing. great breakfasts with a good range of food and drinks.
Right next to the sea, great views and very quiet, despite being busy.
We had a great sea view, and a balcony which got the sun all day.
Very helpful staff, who fortunately all speak good english.

"Staff were all extremely pleasant & helpful.
Any negative comments are of a very minor nature:-
We were Bed & Breakfast and the latter was plentiful & of good quality but the choice was pretty identical every day which after 14 days a bit more variety each day would be better.
Prices for food & drink in the hotel was a bit high which resulted in many guests eating & drinking in other establishments for much of the evening thereby reducing the atmosphere in the hotel."Top Tip:

Hotel Details - Pestana Viking Hotel
The hotel is located in the heart of Algarve, just 45 minutes from Faro International Airport by car. At the top of the cliff, the hotel has wonderful views on the ocean and direct access to a white sand beach. Nested in luxurious gardens with a large range of facilities this is an ideal retreat to enjoy a calm surrounding and also appreciate the leisure and sport activities for all family.
