"Although our room was a litte tired the hotel was in a fabulous location and the staff were really friendly and helpful. It was very clean, and the pools were lovely with great sunbeds and refreshments. With such a great view we would stay here again. We absolutely loved Kalkan and the local people, we will definitely come back again."

"The Pirat hotel is located on both sides of the road adjacant to the Harbour. We stayed in the 'newer' part, on the opposite side of the road to reception, which is spread over several different buildings on different levels over a fairly large area. There are no lifts, which means that if your room is on the upper levels, which ours was, you have upwards of eighty steps to get to your room. So it's not suitable for guests with a mobility problem. Our room on the fourth level, had a nice view over the harbour, with the sun on the balcony until early evening, which was pleasant. However it also overlooked the harbour road, which meant that late night, early morning revellers could be a problem.
Breakfast was on a buffet style, with a delightful sit down area overlooking the harbour, on the first level. The range of food was reasonable and plentiful, but somewhat lacking in variety. Hotel staff first class in all respects.
All in all good value for money, with some good rates at the time of the year we went, which was late September."

"Accommodation was fine. Food was reasonable (although breakfast was dissappopinting). Drinks cost approximately the same as in UK. Bar facilities and pool were first rate."

"The hotel was friendly and very conveniently located overlooking the marina. We asked for a pool or sea view and got the sea view with a balcony and this was in the block across from the hotel. All these rooms are twins (that cant be moved together). We did get offered a double in the hotel, but no sea view without paying extra. We were on a bit of a budget so stuck with the twin. You can pay more when there to upgrade. The pool was excellent and the pool bar/food ok for snacks. We had the buffet once in the evening - for 20tl per person which was excellent choice and value. Breakfast was excellent and all the usual Med fare you would expect. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - a great place to stay"

"My hotel was very nice, the people on reception were really friendly and very help full, my room was lovely and cleaned to a really good standard every day , I would stay there again and also recommend the hotel to other people ."

"We were more than happy the way Travel Republic handled our holiday and would certainly reccommend you to our friends."

"The staff were very friendly & helpful, the food was varied, well prepared & presented. The location was good - near to lots of restaurants and bars. A short walk from the beach. The hotel was clean and well managed & whilst the rooms were pretty bog standard I think this is a great value resort."

"We stayed in the old part of the Pirat. The room was clean, quiet and looked as if it had been recently decorated.
The transfers from Dalaman to Kalkan were arranged by Travel Republic, were excellent value and very punctual.
One tip is don't buy food at Dalaman airport - £4 for a can of Coke - £22 for two sandwiches and two drinks. It has got to be one of the most expensive airports in the world."

"lovely staff, nice pool area, good snacks"

"Kalkan is a beautiful, picturesque resort with over 200 (we were told) restaurants many with rooftop terraces. We visited quite a few and were never disappointed with the food. One slight word of warning - the town is built on the hillside and there are many steps and steep roads and paths so it is not ideal for people with mobility issues.
We stayed in Hotel Pirat which is probably the best located of any hotel in Kalkan, close to the harbour and the older part of town. The hotel was spotlessly clean and our rooms, which had a small balcony, air-con and minibar, were serviced daily. Dont miss trying the savoury pancakes which are available freshly made beside the pool...
All the staff we found to be very friendly and helpful."

"Great location, friendly staff. Good size family room. Good pools."

"Beautiful setting great staff and lovely food made it a truly memorable holiday"

"The hotal was clean and very central. The pools were nice, but they closed at 1900 which was a shame. The staff were helpful. Overall a good stay."

"Hotel in excellent location on the water front, although a steep walk to the shops.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms very clean."

"we had 3 rooms - they were all small and not really suitable for 2 adults - 2 were average with fridge/mini bar and tv but third room looked and felt like it was not one of the main rooms - it had no tv or minibar and the aircon smelt - it need a service. This was probably because the hotel was busy. The hotel is split over the road which is not necessarily a problem but one side has no lift and very steep stairs - not suitable for elderly people or even very small. However hotel is in centre of town so good for bars and restaurants."

"we had an excellent holiday, everything was great except the children we ill for the last few days, however we all had a wonderful time and would love to return to the same place."

"Lovely hotel, rooms made up every day and air con was nice and cold. Staff really freindly and helpfull.
It is suitable for families and the 2 pools are nice but very small and get a little bit hectic if you get kids diving or "bombing" as the sunbeds are close to the pools. Hotel was fully booked when we were there and all sunbeds were full with towels by 9am. with no people on them!!! Bit annoying!!
Resort is lovely, peacefull but very hilly for old people or babies in buggies but still worth the trip as the narrow streets, bars and resturaunts are well worth the hard walk up the hills.
We went half board, food was nice, ample if not a little repetative.
We will probably return another year as it was nice and relaxing."

"Room was adequate and clean. Kalkan is a lovely resort and we are pleased we picked the PIrat Hotel as it was close to the front. Very hilly resort so would not have enjoyed the experience as much if we'd been staying in one of the hotels up in the hills."

"The staff who worked at the hotel were very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
The breakfast was lovely, lots of bread, cheeses, olives and cereals.
It cost us £7 a night to upgrade to a seaview which was worth the extra money.
The Turkish night in the hotel was great fun and kids would enjoy it."

"We stayed half board and found the food was really poor, plenty of places to eat.
We had a sea view which was beautiful but there was no lift and too many steps to the rooms"
