"on booking I asked for rooms next to each other, which we did'nt get. I was told it was they way the other room where booked out, however there did'nt seem to be anyone next to us the entire time we stayed."

"THE RAFALET APARTMENTS WERE THE NICEST WE HAVE EVER STAYED IN, TWO BEDROOMS WITH FANS FREE AIR CONDITIONAR NICE BATHROOM AND SEPARATE KITCHEN , LIVING AREA WITH TABLE AND CHAIRS AND TELEVISION. VERY CLEAN AND GOOD MAID SERVICE. 10/10"

"Rafalet apartments in S'algar are very clean and reasonably well equipped,the resort itself seems pretty quite although I did visit at the end of October and hence a lot of the resort had already wound down for the season,if you are looking for a peace and quite kind of break its worth considering."

"When arriving on the first day we spent around 30 minutes wondering where we had to check into it was all a little confusing, so we could had done with a little more information as to where to check in a map of the S algar resort submitted via email would had been a great help."

"What a great holiday...
The accomodation is excellent - everything we could ask for in an apartment, air-con and satellite tv with a well-equipped bathroom (incl. hair-dryer, courtesy shower gel and hand wash) and a fantastic location right on the sea-front.
The hotel S'Algar pool is literally on the doorstep, with friendly staff and we never had a problem with getting sunbeds around the pool. Its a short walk along the coast to Alcuafar Beach, which is definitely worth a visit.
S'Algar is a VERY quiet resort - in addition to the hotels there is only one bar, two restaurants, one (very expensive) supermarket & a bakery/shop - but that was just what we were looking for and there is a regular bus service into Mahon & San Luis; for those looking to explore though a car is probably a good idea.
Not that much for the 18-30's to get excited about here but that was part of the attraction for us and if you're looking to avoid the stereotypical Brits abroad you won't be disappointed.

"Make a trip into San Luis or Mahon to shop for groceries/general supplies rather than paying the extortionate prices in the S'Algar Supermarket.

"The Rafalet Apartments in S'Algar were ideal for us as we have little ones. We needed to store milk, so the fridge came in handy. The hotel people were very kind and had everything ready for us as we were a little late. The breakfast was nice and the view of the sea. We loved the little square where the restuarants and shops were. Had everything we needed.
The actual apartment was basic but ideal.

"Wonderful holiday,quiet as expected due to it being near end of season which we knew about.Ate in the Reine Isabella restaurant most nights where the staff were friendly and helpful.Only thing the against Rafelet apartments they could do with an electric kettle in them."

"Excellent - this met all of our needs very well. It’s just what I expected from the photographs. Clean and well maintained. This self-catering apartment is right next door to the S’algar Hotel (in fact it is part of the same complex and shares the same facilities. Reception is at the hotel.) There is no beach but the hotel swimming pool is right on the sea front and has plenty of room, sun-beds, bar and an excellent restaurant.
We stayed at the Rafalet with my 15 year old daughter and a school friend, just as well she had company because there is very little to do if you don't dive or want to try it for the first time. The diving was great and the dive centre is just next door to the pool and very friendly.
The supermarket nearby is excellent, stocked with everything we needed. The choice of somewhere to eat is a bit limited but never crowded and the food was great.
In all - a very quiet, safe place to holiday. No rowdy lager louts. It was a pleasure to go to Spain and not be embarrassed by the stereotypical alcohol fuelled Brit holidaymaker. The girls explored alone in the evening and I felt quite sure they would be safe."Top Tip:
"There is a path along the shore (to the right as you face the sea) to the next village and more restuarants (an easy 15 min walk) where there is a small sandy beach, and excellent shore cafe/restuarant.
There is an excellent bus service into Mahon and the surrounding area, well worth exploring, so a hire car is not really necessary. The late night taxi home from mahon was only 20 euros. The taxi services are excellent - just ask the cafe to order one for you."Rafalet Apartments check-in Date:

"Air conditioning in the living area was great. Ceiling fans in the bedrooms were a welcome addition aswell. It was a nice touch that handwash and bodywash was provided in the bathroom and also a hairdryer. It was well worth the extra money for a sea view especially as many of the boats sailed past on the way back to the port of mahon."

We usually stay at the Rafaelet apartments, but on arrival we were upgraded to the Los Narajos apartments due to overbooking. We weren't sure at first if we'd like it there, but they were fantastic. "There aren't lots of eateries within the complex as the onset of all-inclusives etc has sadly shut some of the restaurants. The buffet meal at the San Luis is great though, as is the Asia restaurant which covers a multitude of different dishes to suit anyone. The local bakery is great value for money and all the produce there is delicious if you are self catering. The beach at nearby Alcaufar is a short walk over the rocks and is very pretty and not too busy. "Having been going to S'Algar for twenty five years now and staying in various accomodation we find The Rafalet to be in the best position of them all.The apartments themselves have all you could wish for and the air conditioning and ceiling fans in bedrooms are a welcome addition.Will be visiting again next year,probably twice god willing and can't wait."

"The aprartments were ideally situated directly opposite the pool. You could leave the air con on during the day so that it was lovely and cool on returning to the apartment. The bathroom had lots of towels and in the shower you had shower and body wash and over the sink hand wash. Both products were well known and not a cheap brand. Kitchen on the small side but had plenty of everything you would need. The two bedrooms good size, large wardrobe but not too much space for storing smaller non hanging items. Fans above the beds. We did not find the beds very comfy but that may be just us. Gardening watering system was very noisy during the night so keep windows closed. Would definately stay there again. Thanks for your very efficient service with the accommodation and also the taxi transfers, 1st class."

"My wife and I booked our flight,hotel and hire car through Travel Republic.We were delighted with our whole package.Our apartment at the Rafalet Bungalows in S,Algar was excellent and was in a beautiful setting overlooking the Med.At present we are trying to book a similiar deal for early October but are having difficulty getting reasonable flight prices from Glasgow."

"We have stayed in the Rafalet apartments before. They have an excellent location just a few metres from the sea front. There was a lovely big travel cot for our youngest son who is 17 months. There is air con in the living area and fans in the bedrooms. There is also a nice powerful shower."

Apartment Details - Rafalet Apartments
Only 9 kilometers from Mahón and in an incomparable setting you will find the SAlgar Resort, next to the sea and in a beautiful natura area.
Accommodation
There are 25 apartments built in Menorcan style all of which are on the ground floor. Each of the apartments has 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, lounge-dining room, Sat TV, ceiling fan, kitchen & furnished terrace.
Facilities & Services
Ideal for families and children, offering a wide range of sports facilities; Tennis, Paddle, excursions-cycling, bowls, golf practice area, Archery and Rifle shooting, Chess, Sauna, Massages, Gymnasium etc. MiniClub (4-10 years) and KidsClub (11-15 years) in ca. 400m distance from Apts. Rafalet, at the Sport zone close to San Luis Hotel. The complex of Rafalet, just across the road from the Dive Club, is set in attractive gardens and well located for the rocky platform near the pool area and the sandy beach at Cala Alcaufar. The SAlgar Express (mini tourist train) runs around the resort, stopping at points of interest. International or Mediterranean cuisine, Paellas, Pizzas, Grills etc., whatever your taste, you will find it always somewhere in SAlgar.
