"Very dated. Rooms very basic, decor, bedding and curtains all old. Shower terrible- really weak.

Hotel service unhelpful and unfriendly.

Pool okay, though not very clean, lots of sand in it. Pool-side bar prices ridiculously expensive (and that is just soft drinks!) Beach small and too crowded."

"We travelled with Air Cyprus - the staff on the plane were very attentive and the meal was well cooked. As well as staying at the Sandy Bay Hotel, in Larnaca, (which is well furnished and very comfortable), we attended a wedding reception there which was really good . The hot canapes and icy cold champagne, served during the evening, were excellent and there was plenty of room for all the very many guests by the side of the outdoor swimming pool.

The staff on reception were extremely helpful."

"Location great, Very clean and well kept, right on beach. Food is good for breakfast & lunch but limited for evening meals. Waiter service excellent, entertainment pretty low key and non in the daytime.

Hotel more suited to mature people than families looking for lively holidays."

"The jeep safari that the rep organised for us was not particularly good- no food was included and there was a stop at a silver and lace shop which became a real hard sell where you felt that you had to make a purchase. The rep did say that he had not been on many (if any) of the trips - I think that is a shame as it would be good to be able to get his opinion before booking the trips/ tours."

"I have stayed at Sandy Beach 3 years on the trot and have always found the staff very friendly and helpful.
My only criticism would be that the hotel is in need of a little TLC. The rooms need a lick of paint and the Swimming Pool Area is also in need of repair as some of the tiles have come off the bottom of the pool. However this did not interupt my stay at Sandy Beach and am hoping to book again for next year!"

"This hotel is in dire need of redecoration. The clientle is mostly eastern european. The hotel does not have a good atmosphere , breakfast quite poor. Good access to the beach. About a 15 min walk to the other bars and restaurant on the Dekahlia Road."

"The food was basic, I did expect something better for a 4*.

The room was very small for 2 adults and 2 children (age 5 and 9), and the adult bed was in fact two single beds put together.

The location was great though, and I was very happy with the beach and the surrounding facilities, just right for someone who was not interested in an overly touristy resort, and wanted to relax.

Overall it was a thumbs up 7/10"

"Themed evening in restaurant had dishes from all over the world all very good. The hotel ideally situated and having large pool then grassed area all with free sunbeds then beach was brilliant.One evening had Cypriot wine tasting which also was good."
