"Unfortunately the Hotel is in the middle of nowhere, so nothng to do of an evening but you can book excursions to see different places. "

"Hi - this is a 3 star hotel by UK standards, a 4 star in Egypt! It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and smiley"

"This resort is in the middle of nowhere with no where to go other than a £15 taxi ride to Taba Heights. But great if you want to do nothing! which is what I wanted and what I did! Many thanks. "

"first of all the staff are very very helpful and tipping them is the least they deserve. of course the hotel is not a 4*, but it's a good 3*. the rooms are more than ok. the food excellent so are the pools. although i prefer the beach which is 2 minutes walk fron the resort. and please do not listen to the people who criticise the food. you need to remember that u are in egypt and the rice is their daily diet. but there is everything in the buffet: fish, beef, chicken , vegetable, pasta, salads, cheeses and fruits and sometimes pizza and chips...........what more do u need ?!"

"the one day criuse from sallah eddine village. loved it. take ur own snorkling kit ,well worth it, as the is a charge for it. also if u could take a day out to dahab for camel ride and quad biking.........nice!!!!!!!!!!"

The Sol Y Mar Sea Star resort is the perfect destination for both lovers of action and those seeking relaxation. Surrounded by majestic mountains and finished in calming pastel colors, it is in harmony with the areas atmosphere. Here, guests can dive or snorkel to explore the magnificent coral reefs, for which the Red Sea area is famed worldwide. Or they can experience the serenity and pristine beauty of the Sinai Desert. At the Sol Y Mar Sea Star, warm and friendly service, combined with excellent cuisine and an atmosphere of peace and beauty, will all ensure an unforgettable holiday.

Accommodation

The hotel features 171 comfortable and pleasantly furnished guest rooms including 6 suites. Each room has a balcony or a terrace overlooking the pool or the mountains, while the suites have a fabulous view of the Red Sea. Each room is fully equipped with: shower/WC, hairdryer, individually-controlled air-conditioning, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, mini fridge and safe deposit box.

All Inclusive Food & Drinks

The AI programme consists of breakfast (07:00-10:00), lunch (13:00-15:00) and dinner (19:00-22:00), all buffet style, served in Captains Table restaurant. During meals all local soft & alcoholic drinks are offered (by the glass). Snacks such as mini sandwiches are available during tea time daily between 16:00 & 17:00 at the lobby bar. Locally produced alcoholic drinks like whiskey, brandy, vodka, gin, anise, dark rum, wine (red, white, rose), lager beer, non alcohol beer, sprite, fanta orange, coca cola, can juices, mineral water, tea, nescafe, hot chocolate and cappuccino are served at the lobby bar (10:00-23:00), the beach bar & the pool bar (10:00-17:00) as well as during meal times at the restaurant.

All Inclusive Sports & Entertainment

Sport facilities at the hotel include tennis (during daylight), billiards, football playground (daytime), professional exercise room in the health club as well as occasional entertainment within the week.

Chargeable Extras

Two A la Carte restaurants (Italian & steak house) are available at a charge.

Sports & Leisure

Beach volleyball, table tennis and boccia and bike riding. The hotels multinational animation team organizes daily programmes. The mini club offers daily animation programme for young ones aged between 4 & 12. There is a wide variety of childrens facilities like childrens pool, playground, special childrens menus, baby cots, baby chairs, baby-sitting (available on request at an extra charge).

Useful Information on Distances

The hotel is located very near to its own sandy beach, just 10 km from the Taba border and 25 km from the Taba international airport.

Entry Requirements

On entry into Egypt, you must obtain a visitors visa at the port of entry, the fee is £10 (subject to change). Sharm El Sheikh is considered a free zone, due to being located in the Sinai Peninsula. Travel on excursions outside the peninsula, the visitors visa is a requirement. We recommend that you see your Medhotels rep on arrival, and they will assist you with obtaining the visa.
