  • Ian from Whitley Bay reviewed the Stephanos Hotel

  • "Hotel Stephanos in Polis is a very freindly appart hotel.
From the warm family welcome to the cheery farwell.
This Aprt hotel is ideally situated fro a holiday base from which to expolore the Akamis Peninsular.
A little jaded in decor made up by the freindly and attentive service.
Would recommend for anyone looking for a cosy place to holiday.
A reasonable walk to the Polis beach and 200 yards from the old village square which has an ample supply of resteraunts and bars with out being overcrowded. The Fresh Fish and local produce offered by many of the resteraunts offers good value for money."

  • Top Tip:

"For local specialities Look out for Chix Choxs taverna on the corner of the square."

  • "We arrived at the stephanos hotel ,to have a rude women with food stains all down her clothes and a ciggarette in her mouth throw us a key and get us to complete a form. She could not ever be bothered tell us how to get to the studio .She had given us a one bedroom appartment .The appartment was dirty the beds stank of urine, the toilet had dried in feaces all over the pan and the toilet seat was stained with urine. The bed spreads were stained and stank. The pool at the apartment was dirty no one was swimming.I took our bags back to the car and refused to stay .I handed the key back and went a short distance down the road and found a clean hotel with nice staff. I was expecting basic acomidation.I will not stand for rudness and filth .I think if we had stayed we may have got sick. Do not take your family to this hotel."

  • Adrian from Southport reviewed the Stephanos Hotel

  • "It was my first stay at this hotel and after settling in I found it be an excellent hotel. The rooms are clean and tidy, if a little basic, breakfast is good, reception and foyer areas good, hospitality from the owners good. I will be going back there."

  • Top Tip:

  • Nigel from Milton Keynes reviewed the Stephanos Hotel

  • "Rooms very basic and tired looking. Although recently decorated the hotel needs a good makeover, but suspect there's not enough money available to do this properly at present. Keeping this clean must be a challenge - although they do try. Even the clean sheets (2x per week) have hairs still attached and we were eaten alive while there, we believe by bed-bugs - certainly not mosquitos! Pool not clean enough to swim in and pool area could do with a good scrub. Self catering facilities extremely basic - no utensils included in the room (had to request them) and the one attempt we made to cook in the room failed due to a lack of gas to the cooker. Bathroom needs a good clean with mouldy grout and bath seals. Would not go back again."

  • Top Tip:

"Very close to centre of Polis, which was a real highlight. Strongly recommend Cafe & Resturant 4U. Great food and great service, including every sports channel possible in the cafe bar."

  • phillipa from bolton reviewed the Stephanos Hotel

  • "We had booked this hotel due to the previous customer reviews. The hotel was a tad basic and could probably do with an overhaul.
The family where very helpful and reacted to any requests/ suggestions (ants in our room one night had been removed by the time we returned from our night out).
We stayed for B&B but found the breakfasts to be basic and not as filling as they could be. AS the hotel is very close to the square there were lots of options to eat and drink out and therefore we never struggled to find different places to eat each day."

  • Lesley from Dronfield reviewed the Stephanos Hotel

  • "The hotel was very clean and friendly. The rooms are spacious and well equipped for self catering and although we only stayed one night a week would have been comfortable. The hotel is very close to all amenities including restaurants and bars and the beach is about a 15 minute walk away. The owners are very welcoming and I'd definately consider returning."

  • Martin from London reviewed the Stephanos Hotel

  • "Stephanos hotel is in the heart of Polis with only a 2 minute walk to town centre. Friendly, family run hotel with everything you could ask for. Since we were at the hotel in late April, all of the services were not available( Pool side bar and restaurant). Amazing service with the cleanest property and rooms I have seen in a long time!!!!!!!! Great for familys and couples, old and young."

  • Top Tip:

"If you are looking for a relaxed getaway, away from all the hustle and bustle, GO TO POLIS!!!! Everything is within walking distance as the town is so small and compact with everything you would need including two excellent supermarkets for self catering. Selection of restaurants await with my recommendation being The Fisherman restauarant and Tavern. Excellent service and great authentic food!!!!"

  • "The Stephanos is a great family run hotel. The family are helpful & very nice people. It is quiet so if you like lots of loud music round the pool etc this wouldn't be the place for you. It is also in a great location for the restaurants & centre of Polis."

  • Anna from Great Yarmouth reviewed the Stephanos Hotel

  • "We found the hotel had a great location, it was family run who were all very freindly and helpful all public area's were clean and well kept, our room was a good size and the only down side was that our room was very tired and for a self catering apartment not that well equiped, this did not worry us as we ate out all the time, but think a family on a budget might have found it frustrating, however, i feel sure that any requests for extra equipment would have been met."

  • Top Tip:

"The town square was only a 3 min walk from the hotel where all the restaurants are, and there are alot all serving very good food and proved excelent value for money. Our most rated would have to be the fish tavern where we had lovely fresh seafood and fish and very good service."

Can recommend hotel rooms, which are well equipped for selfcatering as well. hotel ideally positioned for centre of Polis where there are numerous restaurants and cafes in a square, two minutes away.If you are looking for lots of nightlife,

Very nice hotel, ideally situated for the centre of Polis where all the bars and restaurantsare. It is quite quiet there. The hotel does not have entertainment.Rooms are very good, whether you are staying half board or self-catering. Excellent swimming pool and grounds.Great place for a relaxing holiday."

  • J from Lincs reviewed the Stephanos Hotel

  • "we had a wonderful holiday in cyprus, the only bad point is a week is not long enough.the stephanos hotel was absolutely perfect, very central to the main square and restuarants which are excellent for a spot of people watching! we have already tried to book for next year we enjoyed it that much (2 WEEKS THIS TIME!)the stepanos is ideal for children, my three year old daughter loved it!"

  • Top Tip:

"the pedestrian square is very good for an evening meal we tried chix chox, moustakallis and finikas, all were very freindly and very good meals, but if you like people watching then its got to be chix chox!"

  • Martin from Camberley reviewed the Stephanos Hotel

  • "The setting is in the centre of Polis. The HB is good value for money and worth using for the first week. The chef is a family member with recipes that are not the usual fare in the local restuarants. The family make you very welcome with a Hotel style reception/lounge/bar and dining room. In May they are not busy yet the temperatures were in the high 20's. There is a good walk to Lassi via the camp site with a seaside bar and a paved walk along the front. Lassi is on the fishing harbour and marina with a huge selection of sea facing restaurants. Polis is the place to visit to see natural Cypruss with nearby villages in the hills where life appears to have stopped still. Contact with the hotel is recommended as a family member will collect/return you from the Paphos airport."

  • Top Tip:

"Locals resturants were 'The Old Town House, dear by Cypruss standard but a good international cusine. good for a treat. The fish restaurant in the town square is run by a fisherman's daughter and her school teacher husband. The iclusive fish dish is ideal for those who have huge appetites. Others are recommended to choose a single dish and to see how they go. Just out of town on the road to the camping grounds/beach is a wayside restaurant chequered table cloths and family cooking that impressed my wife when we passed for it's cleanliness and when were returned in the evening it was popular and provided a excellent meal that was very good value for money."
