A very cleam family run hotel that has a good size pool and is set in great gardens and in a very quiet location.
All the rooms are in small blocks, with aircon and were cleaned daily, towels changed every other day.
On site snack clean and well run.
It is situated a 4 min walk from the main group of bars and restaurants.
had a fantastic time - Hotel very clean , excellent service from Toni & staff at his bar. Tigaki as a resort was just what we wanted very chilled and a lovely beach - weather just right (29-34C) with lovely breeze.
Try Weekends in the Skalla shopping complex - pricy but brill Rodinos also very good and NOT expensive. Best bar - Minis and club Memories
We have stayed at this hotel for the last two years and find it excellent, it is clean, quiet, close to the beach (about 5 minutes walk from the back gate from the hotel grounds) the grounds are well planted with flowers, shrubs & palm trees, all of which are very well looked after. It has a large swimming pool with pool bar and plenty of sunbeds without being crowded. The staff are all friendly & helpful.
Try Hercules (Heracles) restaurant on the main road on the left hand side as you head towards the big supermarket.
Very quiet, superb location, good continental breakfast, comfortable beds, definately go again next year!
The Tigaki's Star Hotel is a wonderful place to stay on holiday in Kos. It is very friendly, relaxed and efficient.
A kilometre to the west of the main beach in Tigaki there is a lovely, wilder beach without sunbeds and sun umbrellas. It is quiet and a long way from the road.
The location of the hotel was very good, close enough to town, bars restaurants but far enough away to be quiet although I believe the rooms at the front may have heard some music from the awful holiday village nearby. Our room was in the main hotel building and was excellent, large clean and comfortable with air-conditioning included without any extra 'local charge'. The room was very well cleaned everyday except Sunday (everyone deserves at least one day off a week) and the towels were changed at least three times during our one week stay. As I have said, our room was in the main hotel building and I am unable to comment too much on the other accommodation, which are appartments in blocks (not large blocks) although they did look very nice from what I could see through open doors. The pool was also very good with various inflatables, and bats and balls available if required, presumably left by previous guests. The bar was good, offering a good range of hot & cold drinks and food.
The breakfast was the typical continental fayre, with fruit juice, tea and coffee, cereals, a variety of rolls, cheese & cold meats, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, yogourt & honey. All available on an as much as you can eat basis
Use the back gate by the small church to go to the beach, it's probably less than 10 minutes walk, also going this way the first bar/restaurant you come to is Alikes Bar, where the food is really good, well cooked and good value for money. try their sardines with just salad (not chips) they are lovely
Very clean rooms, infact the cleanest I have ever stayed in.Lovely pool, good for swimming straight lengths.Breakfast boring, no fresh fruit, apparently its to expensive! No yogurts and orange tasted awful. not worth getting up for.
All German guests except for us, but frankly didn't bother us.
We liked the hotel which is set in beautiful well kept gardens. The only thing we lacked was air conditioning and if we booked Tigakis Star again we would request a room with a/c. Breakfast was excellent - help your self to as much as you could eat of bread, cereal, yoghurt, cold meats, cheese and water melon. The orange juice was aweful though. Pool bar and snack service excellent and not expensive although we didn't stay by the pool much. The beach was a short walk from the back gate of the hotel down to the dunes and onto the naturist part of the beach which is the best one on the island. The meltemi wind blew most days but was quite welcome as it cooled things down a bit. We had a problem with mosquitos at the hotel which come from the nearby salt lake area so take precautions with you.
The Greek night excursion up to Zia was excellent value and we booked via Theokritis Travel in the main street. Tigaki itself is fairly quiet and no 18 - 30 groups thankfully. Restaurants all offered pretty similar menus but reasonable value. The beach is fabulous - 3km of white sand and safe seabathing.
