Top Tips from our customers for Food in Agadir - Morocco

- We found a bar/restaurant called the Mogador just round the corner where the service and food were excellent, and wonderful value for money. In addition, the food at La Scala restaurant was really top rate, although this was a good deal more pricey (although good value by English standards.

- We spent most lunchtimes at La Vendome/ali baba restaurant on the beach front which does fantastic pizzas and grilled sardines.
Evenings we liked to go to Chez Nous a bit further up the beach - but generally anywhere you go the food is great and the best thing to order is tagine, I never had a bad one!
There is the usual McDonalds and Pizza hut - we never visited these but the morrocans seemed to like McDonalds!

Stayed at Agadir Beach Club HotelMarch 2008 - Two wonderful restaurants on the beach front are Le Flore and Chez mama de Brochette, next to each other.
The Berber market where the locals shop is well worth a visit to find a taste of the real Morocco.
Marrakesh is definately worth a visit though I would recommend staying overnight, a day trip is a bit gruelling. The scenery on the way is breathtaking and diverse.

- There are some fantastic restaurants in Agadir that are located near to the amadil beach hotel, my two favourites were 'La Mauresque' which provided a variety of traditional Moroccan and meditteranean cuisine, and 'La Scala' which had a superb fish menu.
The souks in Agadir were a perfect place to go do some shopping, the main souk - Souk Al Haad - had everything from mirrors, and carpets to leather and silver jewellery - BUT be prepared to barter. The other artisan (handicraft) souk, is meant to be fixed price (but there is room for bartering) and it provides a more relaxed atmousphere to shop in for those less brave.
