Stayed at Solferias HotelFebruary 2008 - We found, this year, heading East from the hotel, (5 mins. walk) a friendly bar called Helders, top marks for his hospitality and the Maciera brandy. Next door a superb, reasonable restaurant - I cannot remember it's name.

Stayed at Colina Sol ApartmentsMarch 2008 - Found a great Cocktail bar called "Rascals - The Lounge" it was very relaxing and at night is lit inside with candles and easy listening music (chill out). Would 100% recommond a visit there.

Stayed at Solferias HotelJuly 2007 - Quiet and ok for families, but not for teenagers/party animals especially if you're looking for close by nightlife- ours (16, 16 and 17) were bored by frequenting the one decent nearby bar by the end of the week (that was 5 mins by foot). Carvoeiro itself only had the one 'nightclub' open in August - it was ridiculously expensive and had only a handful of customers all night despite advertising a foam party on the night we visited. Clearly the teenagers in our party were not impressed although they enjoyed the rest of the stay. Visit the beaches and cloves close by and Aqualand is also well worth the money for a full, fun day out.

Stayed at Colina Sol ApartmentsAugust 2007 - local restaurants worth a look are Jota Lita and A Gale- decent bar by the name of Bradys which has Betty Stogs bitter for any real ale drinkers.
