  • alicante is beautiful,friendly and hte food in the main centre of town we ate along the boulavard in the evening,we sat outside the restuarants and the whole town comes alive with all the locals who are so friendly. from marian

  • Lovely tapas bar just across from hotel but one, toward promenade. Look for locals eating usually good indication. No english 'eateries' museum v fancy however check whats on - modern bit civil war bit missing and we just missed brit museum show, a walk up to castle recommended. Shopping? plenty shops and dept.store il corte inglese. For me 3-4 days would be enough, oh and theatre 2mins away. from Martin

  • There's a clothing department store called Sfera nearby,which I love! I love how they hang all the clothes according to the colours, so it's a 'yellow' section here and a 'white' section there.. The store's really colourful. from Adibah

  • There's a great little cafe at the back of the hotel serving the local breakfast delicacy -hot chocolate and churros ( fried bread dipped in sugar like fingers of doughnut). The trams are great, the archeological museum is really interesting and please, learn a bit of Spanish. Not everyone speaks English (why should they, after all?) but they hugely appreciate you making the effort from Gwen

  • The local markets are great to walk around at night time, we also had a couple of day trips down the coast to less busy (and cleaner) beaches which was really good. Climb up to the castle - its beautiful! from Tania

  • beach 3 euros for a sun bed and the taxi from the airport is more going to alicante than going back to the airport due to the taxis at the airport not having meters going 22 euros return 15 euros from william
