Top Tips from our customers for Beaches & Sights in El Albir - Costa Blanca

- The walk from Albir Playa to the lighthouse is a delight - not to be missed by anyone who can walk 6Km with some fairly steep hills. Well signposted, good underfoot. Start the walk at the Southern end of the playa.

Stayed at Kaktus Albir HotelApril 2007 - Altea is a must. A very quaint spanish holiday resort and well worth a walk along the promenade. There is a no 10 bus that travels continually between Benidorm and Altea passing through Albir. The old town of Benidorm is worth a visit.

- The beach is located about 5 mins away from the hotel. It's quiet with beautiful scenery and loads of restaurants around - Chinese, Italian ,Spanish etc. I eat at the Hong Kong Chinese restaurant and it was less than 6 euros. Also Lidl and McDonalds are just 5 and 10 mins walk from the hotel. If you want to add a bit of spice to your stay you could take the bus 10 which cost just 1 euro to Benidorm Centro (central) and have a wonder around the very busy beach and the streets which seems to be hyper busy during the day and night.

Stayed at Rober Palas HotelApril 2007 - Well worth the walk into the old town of the next resort and climb the steep narrow roads to the church. Amazing views and what we considered to be the real Spain

Stayed at Albir Playa and Spa HotelJanuary 2007 - Restaurants and shops....get your hands on a local map and head East or for the non-geographical folk, out of the hotel front (as in onto the beach and walk right along the spotlessly clean path) and up the small hill into a better selection of shops and places to eat! Regular pretty traders markets were held in the 7 days we were there and there were a nice range of restaurants to choose from as well as supermarkets. Number 10 bus takes you to Benidorm, runs every half an hour for one euro each fare.

- A trip to nearby Altea cathedral and the restaurants around it is a must.

Stayed at Albir Garden HotelMay 2006 - The tram was cheap and comfortable had a day trip to Benidorm less than 2 euros return. 1 day in Benidorm was quite enough but found a good Spanish restaurant in the old town food and atmosphere was terrific. Althea is only 20 min walk along the coast good half day visit. Or head right along the coast for a glorias walk to the lighthouse (great views)

Stayed at Kaktus Albir HotelMarch 2008 - Albir is a lively place with lots of bars and restaurants. Beach is ok but stony. If you want a good beach, try Moraira or Benidorm, both of which are golden, sandy ones!

Stayed at Albir Garden HotelMay 2007 - If you can hire a car - a visit to the fonts/waterfall outside Castel is worth a visit. It worked out cheaper for us to hire car rather than pay for transfers and then bus fares or taxis to attractions.

Stayed at Albir Garden HotelJune 2008 - Get some beach shoes you can swim in cos the beach in El Albir is a pebble one and getting in and out of the sea hurts! Apart from the stones the sea is gorgeous also take a leisurely walk to Altea it's a lovely walk taking about 40min.
