• Malgrat de Mar: This popular resort has a pretty town, good beach, a lovely promenade and great hotels. Malgrat de Mar lies on the coast between Pineda de Mar and Blanes. Most hotels are near the promenade where there is a good choice of shops and bars, 5 minutes away from the beach. Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar are nearby and easily reached by the local train and buses.

This cosmopolitan resort has a picturesque old town of narrow cobbled streets set beneath the magnificent Massif Montnegre, a beautiful national park popular with hikers, horse riders and mountain bikers. There are also water taxis to the other local resorts such as Tossa de Mar or Lloret de Mar. Further along the beach to the south you can find secluded rocky coves; and further on small fishing villages nestling at the feet of magnificent cliffs

• The beach was lovely and clean with good facilities and plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. We found a great restaurant called Bon Taverna, Aussie themed decoration but the food was great with good service.
