Top Tips from our customers for Beaches & Sights in Puerto Rico - Gran Canaria

- Top Diving in Peurto Rico harbour is a must. I was an extremely nervous 1st time diver but the Instructor Steve was fabulous and I enjoyed every minute of it.
El Torres is a very nice restaurant ans they really look after you if you go for a second visit. Also Swing Bar is great for a nice drink or two without being pestered to go in.

- You must visit the camels in FATAGA , Palmitos Park, go on the "TIMANFAYA" one of the longest standing sail ships in puerto rico...say a big hello to JULIO and family on board...and watch out for the shaving foam....don't book jet skiis anywhere else, it is so expensive, you will get more out of it on this boat at a smaller extra price!! "Little Venice" called MOGAN which you can go on in a taxi boat (cheap as chips) runniing every half hour or so, there are some stunning beaches on the island, one is one of the newest resorts called the Amadores. There is so much to do I could write tonnes,........we found a fabulous family restaurant bar right at the bottom near the beach of Puerto Rico in the shopping centre which offers happy hour on all local beers and spirits and a great price for other drinks!! Also, there was M&Ms in the main shopping centre which is the best place for prices......we ate in a few places and it depends on what you like to eat BUT if you want a chinese there is a great little chinese hidden underneath Linekers corner with a great Pizzeria called "Florida". However there is plenty of choice and it is a bit annoying when you go down to the shopping centre at night and they all want you to go in.....I suppose there is so much competition....BUT, be prepared to get annoyed!! Don't let them decide where you go to eat, tell them you have eaten already (SP) "¡HEMOS COMIDO!".....I can't fault Gran Canaria for anything, great food, great people, plenty of choice, fantastic weather practically guaranteed....something to go back for again and again.....

Stayed at Ipanema Park HotelSeptember 2006 - Puerto Mogan is also well worth a visit whether by the boats that do a ferry service or bus which is very cheap from the bus terminal in Puerto Rico, there is a Market on a Friday but be warned it gets very busy. The Big Red in Puerto Rico is a great laugh but be prepared to get soaked. The yellow submarine is good as it goes down about 20 metres around a sunken boat just outside Puerto Mogan and you can see some lovely fish down there.ome of the eating places in the Europa centre good for food are The Bistro run by Alice and Nigel, Flicks, and The Wellington. Entertainment and drinks Cafe Mambo, Extreemez, and Angeloes. The Sportsman is a lovely bar with loads of Only fools and Horses films being shown this is run by Mike.

Stayed at Partner Puerto Azul HotelDecember 2006 - Trip to Puerto Mogan by boat or bus is well worth it and we would stay there if we were to go to Gran Canaria again. Discovered the best 'Spanish' restaurant on the last night - Restaurant Waikiki which is the last restaurant on the 'sea side' before going on to the harbour where the boat trips go from or the walkway to Amadores. Very friendly, not pushy to eat there (which we also found a nuisance)a Spanish guitarist and spanish food and excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend.

- Very close to Ruerto Rico Dive Centre, the best people to dive with in the Canaries! What more could you want?

Stayed at Riosol ApartmentsDecember 2006 - A few things that should be checked out whilst over there is a trip on the Big Red it is a speed boat ride of about 25 mins but be prepared to get soaked but it is great fun. Another good trip is the dolphin boats, they have a fixed price but try to strike a bargain if there is a few of you. Puerto Mogan or known as Little Venice is a lovely place for a meal out but take some bread and throw it in to the water in that marina and see the fish race for it, and if you look closely you can spot up to about seven types of fish there. Also at Mogan a good trip is to go down in the Yellow Submarine as there is a small fishing wreck outside the port which it circles and some lovely fish can be seen there even though you are not down very deep. If you do go there, there is plenty to see and do so have fun.

- The beach at Amadores is fantastic and knocks spots off Puerto Rico. Its can be walked to or is a few minutes drive.
There is also a manmade resort on the coast road to Playa del Ingles called Anfi-del-mar. Its about 5 mins drive from Puerto Rico. It's the moast amazing place with a white sand beach and has been modelled on a caribbean beach with cocunut palms, and lush gardens. Take a snorkel as the fish are amazing. Its got restaurants, top brand shops, and more watersports available than you can possibly do in a week. FANTASTIC!!!!
