Top Tips from our customers for Beaches & Sights in Granada - Spain

- Alhambra, goes without saying, the nearest place to heaven we can get to from Earth. Granada, local bars wonderful, free tapas with drinks. Take the train to Almeria, in daylight. Scenery to die for. Almeria is pleasant, lots of nice cafes and bars along the Mediterranean, but please visit the old town.

Stayed at Navas HotelNovember 2007 - We went specifically to see the Easter processions - We are not religious but we wanted to experience the atmosphere and the ceremonial parading of these huge tableaus with their following cornet/drum bands. It was quite emotive and obviously the Spanish people, from babies and children (drumming on their toy drums) to the elderley enjoy the spectacle bursting into applause whenever the 'Penitents' carrying these huge loads on their shoulders did a little dance/shuffle to the music.

Stayed at Alixares HotelOctober 2007 - I was particularly interested in paying a visit to the poet Lorca's house which was very near at hand. Also the large store Cort Ingles was just across from the hotel. Indeed there were many small shops in the area covering for all needs.

- The Alhambra is right next to the hotel. I would recommend this as one of the best tourist attractions in Spain. Also, Granada itself is a fantastic city and comes pretty close to rivalling Barcelona. The people are so friendly and every bar offers free tapas....a gastonomic delight.

Stayed at Los Angeles HotelMarch 2007 - Get tickets for the Alhambra before you get to Granada. The queues are unbelievably long ....we gave up after 2 hours waiting having got there at 8:00am. The queue had scarcely moved and by that time they were only selling tickets for the afternoon.
