- Reasonably priced restaurants & tapas bars along Navas a pedestrian street running parallel to Angel Ganivet the street hotel is on. Also at end of street walk to end of square to cafe futbol a coffee, chocolate and pastries establishment very good.

Stayed at MeliaOctober 2006 - Do not eat dinner in the hotel try Granada town better food half the cost plus its local dishes and you can still eat at 23.30 after going round the bars for tapas.
Just ask for taxi to any of the town squares and look to see which places are full of locals. At 01.30 ask the waiter to call a taxi then stay in bed till 9.00 to miss the day tripers going for breakfast on mass

The littlehopper bus service from opposite the hotel to the town centre is excellent and and runs every 10 minutes or so.

Stayed at Alhambra PalaceJanuary 2008 - Don't bother with half board, eating out, particulary tapas is very reasonable.
The area was not overrun with tourists. -You will need a little Spanish to get by. It is definitely not a place for 'lager louts' - there are plenty of cultural offerings. - We were there during the annual music festival.

- At the very top of the Albaicin in a square opposite church there are two excellent restaurants, very good value. Sacromonte mostly closed Mon through Tues when we looked for somewhere.
