Just outside the hotel is a small jewellery shop. We got friendly with one of the assistants who arranged a private cab to take us to Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary. We had a super day out with our taxi driver and it was much better than one of those organised coach trips. from R

Do go to Ephesus it is easy and cheap on the local buses (Asad the manager will explain). Long Beach (bus from the hotel) is a great beach but Pigale beach (also lovely) not suitable for children. from Elizabeth
