- If you walk up the road which has Cappucino cafe on the corner and find the nearest bus stop you can catch a number 3 bus which takes you to a lovely beach called Illetas/Ses Illetes.

Stayed at Costa Azul HotelMay 2007 - The view of the marina was spectular, plenty of bars and restaurants and the hotel was in walking distance of more or less everything.. including the very gorgeous cathedral.

Stayed at Armadams HotelJune 2007 - Es Baluard gallery and restaurant. 250 metres toward Palma from the hotel. Great displays open to 22:00 and restaurant/bar open as long as you want. Stunning views over Palma Bay, from the cathedral to the cruise ships. Brill!

Stayed at Costa Azul HotelJuly 2006 - Excellent local bus transport virtually at the base of the funicular and possibility of purchasing in Palma( in Tabacs) a special ticket allowing 10 bus trips for 8 euros. Also great Italian restaurant on water front just after Athena Palace hotel

Stayed at Armadams HotelNovember 2006 - Highly recommended is the beach at Illetas, which is a short bus ride away on a number 3, from the road above and behind the hotel. It is quiet, sheltered and has a good bar.

Stayed at Costa AzulOctober 2005 - Great old fashioned barber on the corner right of the entrance of the hotel as you leave the building.
Best haircut I have ever had.
Also watch the parking on the right hand side of the building as you drive towards it. Some of the bays attract a £75 fine!
from Lindsay

Stayed at AC Ciutat de Palma HotelApril 2006 - local park great ...cable car a must trip
from G

Stayed at Costa AzulSeptember 2005 - 1) Don't bother to hire a car-parking has to be on the street and you can end up spending up to an hour looking for a space in the strange dual carriageway system with few chances to turn back.
2)The nearby beaches aren't clean...especially the sea.
3) Great restaurants nearby!! Argentinian (best steak in my life!)
4) Easy and interesting 25 min walk into old city and cathedral..worth it!!
Shop till you drop/street musicians/romantic spots...we had a WONDERFUL time!!

- Make sure you take the trip to Soller on the old wooden train - a great day out with spectacular scenery and Soller itself is just beautiful.

Stayed at Costa Azul HotelApril 2007 - Top tip - avoid Sundays in Palma if possible - the shops are shut (though you can take the train over to Soller for the day - their shops are open), but more importantly most of the restaurants are shut at night. (Chinese & Indians are open though)

Stayed at Tryp Palma HotelJune 2007 - I would tell anyone to go on the little wooden train from Palma to Soller through the orange and lemon groves, blissfull! Or book tickets at your hotel and go on the open top bus which takes you all over Palma and you can get on and off as much as you want.
from Gillian
