  • Use the local buses to travel round : they are very reasonable and frequent. Didn't think the "active" volcano was worth the climb: it's very unimpressive although the scenery everywhere is superb. People friendly and helpful. I will definitely return to Santorini one day from CATHERINE

  • Santorini buses are surprisingly good - and efficient. Due to a mix-up by the hotel staff we missed out on our boat trip to watch the sunset in Oia, but caught the bus instead and were there in under an hour (for just EUR2.40 each)! And it's just as spectacular as everyone says it is!! from Jonathan

  • The bus to Thira and back were great and very reasonably priced. If you want to go to Ancient Thira (just a mile or so from Kamari) book a minibus at the top of the main street rather than walking. It was too hot to walk at midday. Lots of very good restaurants selling great food, coffee and crepes. Excellent holiday. from Richard
