Top Tips from our customers for Food in Kamari - Santorini

- Skaramagnus do a fantastic freshly caught Red Snapper for two to share! And a walk up the mountain to ancient thira is a must for great views and archeaological stimulation. Very romantic for couples...get a car so you can enjoy the sunsets at fira and oia.

Stayed at Poseidon Beach HotelSeptember 2007 - The best restaurants in Kamari we found were those away from the sea front. There was one little local restaurant at the bottom of the hill leading to the hotel, on the main road, which served wonderful local food at amazingly low prices. They were very friendly and relaxed too.

- Taverna Andreas is right next door to the hotel - very friendly, family-run, tasty food.
Taverna Saliveras(?) on the main street by the beach - fab, non-touristy, great fava!!!!
Boat trip round to Perissa - good value (only 4 Euros I think), runs every 40 mins (ish)!
Ancient Thira - worth the hike even just for the views.

Stayed at Blue Sea HotelSeptember 2006 - Sea-Side restaurant just down from hotel, right on the beach, great service, great food, especially the Kleftico (lamb in terra cotta dish). Kamari is a really relaxing resort with great restaurants and good prices.

Stayed at Thalassa Resort HotelSeptember 2007 - You'll have heard it before but Zorba's Mexican restaurant - on the road from Fira to Akrotiri has poor service, good food and the best views of a Santorini sunset (and we went to the usual places around Oia).
Go to the port down on the shore at Oia for a fresh fish lunch - perfect.
Oia's cobbled streets and roofs are from the postcards - just mind the coach loads of tourists fron cruise ships!

- The Seaside restaurant on the sea front - go to the bottom of the road and turn left - it's the second rastaurant along and it is fab.

Stayed at Venus Beach HotelSeptember 2006 - Sunshine restaurant on Kamari beachfront is great, good food and friendly staff.
Hire a quad bike it's a great way to see the whole island.
The 'hot' springs are barely lukewarm but still worth the trip!

Stayed at Afroditi Beach and Spa HotelOctober 2006 - Great lamb kleftiko at Alexanders. Hook's bar was nice to sit at and watch the world go by and the king prawns were great. T
he Sunshine reastaurant was also good bur as the pasta is freshly made you may have a wait. The pasta was also cooked with a little bit of bite so it may not be to everyone's taste.
