Top Tips from our customers for Beaches & Sights in Puerto de la Cruz - Tenerife

- Peurto De La Cruz is a beautiful part of Tenerife, and hiring a car for the 2 weeks enabled us to visit most of the island. Great meals in La Casona restaurant in the square, Puerto De La Cruz.

Stayed at CasablancaJuly 2006 - For the walkers among us you can walk to Loro Parque zoo in about an hour along the coast by heading into Peurto de la Cruz and just following the coast there are numerous bars along the way to sit and rest and take a view.
Top tip! At this time of year (november) While sunny in the morning at about 12 - 1 cloud descends over the volcano so sunbathe in the morning and walk in the afternoon!

- Loro Parque and the Aquatic Gardens are both a 'must' for visitors to Puerto de la Cruz. The Botanical Gardens are also well worth a visit.

Stayed at Botanico HotelDecember 2006 - Very nice beach called Playa Jardin, on the road into Puerto de la Cruz from the hotel. Some nice little restaurants in the village just up the road from the hotel, but also loads of choice in the centre of Puerto de la Cruz, 10 minutes away by car. Hotel buffet is also a good option for dinner.

Stayed at Bahia Parque HotelJuly 2007 - It is about 10/15 minutes walk to the beach at Punta Brava which has cafes and bars and the showers and changing rooms have a modest charge. and the little train passes frequently to Loro Parque (the Parrot Park) which must be seen, do allow a full day for this visit. It is about 10 mins walk to the bus station for buses to all destinations. It is a 5minute walk to the San Telmo which has many shops with cheap electrical goods and has restaurants and ice cream parlours. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Lido complex of swimming pools also with bars and restaurants although you must get a 'pass-out' if you wish to shop or eat in the Main avenida which is opposite. Tourist tips are gladly volunteered from the many English bars in the town. The excursion up the volcano - Teide - pronounced tayday, is stunning but its better to leave as early as poosible in the morning as the queues for cable car can be 1 - 2 hours waiting time as the day goes on.
