"We had a wonderful time - the staff were excellent at the hotel they couldn;t do enough for you.

The dive school SRS was perfect and the reef was supurb for diving.

A really peaceful relaxing break. thank you - have tried to book again for next year but the hotel is not available as yet!!!"

"I Enjoyed it very much. Right from the begining i was picked up at the airport and in no time i was been drivening to the hotel. The food for me was very good and enjoyed the setting with which is was served. The staff we'll good and helpful and i have no complaints in that area. My room was plesant and clean, and again with good staff coming in every morning to see if they could help with anything."

I have just returned from my 2 weeks holiday to the hotel UTOPIA BEACH RESORT in
MARSA ALAM, unfortunately there are some points that i must take up with you these are in no set
order.

1. CLEANINESS IN RESTURANT WAS VERY POOR, FLOOR DIRTY, TABLES NOT CLEANED
PROPLEY, BASIC FOOD HYGENE NON EXSITENT. FOOD SERVED COLD AS THE
BANMARIE'S WERE FILLED WITH COLD WATER NOT HOT, FOOD WAS LEFT UNCOVERED
ALLOWING FLYS OF WICH THERE WAS PLENTY TO CONTAMINATE FOOD, ALSO PIGEONS
WERE ALLOWED TO WALK ON THE TABLES, AND IN THE OUTSIDE SERVING AREAS WITHOUT
ANY ATTEMPT TO GET RID OF THEM


2. NO HOT WATER IN ROOMS

3. AIR CON NOT WORKING IN RESTURANT OR RECEPTION PROPLEY.

4. POOL EDGE TILES NOT CLEANED , POOL SUN BATHING AREA FLOOR NOT WASHED THE
2 WEEKS WE WERE THERE.

5 TOILETS NOT CLEANED PROPLY

6 STAFF NOT TRAINED TO THERE JOBS PROPLEY.

During our tine at the hotel my wife was ill 2 days after we arrived, for 2 days , i myself was ill for 8 days
and our friends were both ill for 2 days.
Most people in the hotel hade stomach problems during there time there. So ours was not a isolated case.
We reported this to the rep YASHAM who did try to improve the situation, we also had a fruit plate from
the manager, and hot water was SWITCH ON.
On arrival the rep NASSAR gave us a talk on the coach basically telling us that if we had stomach problems it was our fault not the hotels, this sounded a bit strange at the time,little did we know what
was instore for us.
As a result of this i had a terrible holiday and it cost me £40 in medicens to try get us well also i lost
10lbs in weight not what i was expecting.

"We had a reasonably good holiday. The Utopia Beach Resort has the potential to be a great hotel. The building is very nice; the rooms are big and comfortable with controllable air conditioning; the pool area is large and well provided with comfortable sun-beds; the pool itself is great; the hotel is on the beach where we find sunbeds and great snorkelling; the dive-centre is first class.

However there were several problems with this hotel. (This was our 5th visit to Egypt, so we had some idea of what to expect and we are not 'natural complainers')

For the first week of our stay we had no hot water in our room (Room No 241).

The standards in the restaurant left a lot to be desired; the food was cold, the staff seemed to be inexperienced or careless - very slow to replace crockery and cutlery items and food on the buffet. The air conditioning in the restaurant did not always work and there were a lot of flies. The general cleanliness of the tables was not good,e.g.soiled paper Bon Appetit place mats were re-used, and tables were seldom wiped.

The choice of food for lunch was limited.

The bar did not serve soda water or tonic, just sugar laden drinks and beer. Air conditioning in the lobby bar was ineffective.

Both of us suffered from sick stomachs and diarrhea for two days, our travelling companions fared worse, suffering for several days, and many of the other guests we spoke with also suffered. (During our transfer from the airport to the hotel the YouTravel rep spoke at length on how to avoid stomach problems and diarrhea. This seemed to suggest that these problems were common in this hotel!)

These problems were brought to the attention of the YouTravel rep and there was some improvement in the second week, but based on our experience, we do not feel that we could recommend this hotel to anybody."

"The Hotel was great, the food was ok. We were right on the beach and the coral was just right there the sea and the coral reef was amazing it was the highlight of the whole holiday. The only negative I would say was the organisation of trips this was not down to travel republic or the hotel, it was the tour operator in our case YOU TRAVEL. The basic organisation tools just were not there. We booked three trips in all. The first was the trip to swim with the wild dolphins very unorganised to many people and miscommunication on times spent on each reef, but we saw the dolphins and that was great. Second trip was the quad safari into the sahara dessert this was great really really would advice to go on that one. The thrid trip was a shopping trip this was cancelled and we were not told we were waiting in the reception for 2 hours waiting for the bus to come and it never came. Then I phoned the rep and he said the car had broke down this was a totally rubbish excuse!! Every thing else was great thubs up and we had a great holiday."

"The room we were given was unsuitable and needed renovation , we were moved eventually , the staff were generally unfriendly , the restaurant was poor , food cold and queues long , we all suffered from stoamch bugs and were ill for most of the two weeks"

"Hotel was lovely, room excellent,cool with air con,fridge and free safe.Very clean.Food was okay and what we expected.Certainly never went hungry plenty of choice.Staff all friendly and helpful.The beach is great, even took up snorkeling saw all sorts off the reef.Beautiful!The pool area has no shortage of beds.Has slide connecting to lower pool kids seemed to enjoy.
Much better than we had been led to believe in previous reviews will certainly not hesitate to book again."

"Hotel was lovely, very big, clean and comfortable. Rooms were cleaned daily and were more than adequate. Food left a bit to be desired compared to other hotels we have stayed at. We ended up on salads for 2 weeks(nothing wrong of course with that!) and well ended up with a bad stomachs for the latter week of a two week stint!
Beds were plentiful, both by the beach and pool. Honestly there was no one there which was bliss. And we were informed its like this all year round. Great to relax and chill out and unwind.

Entertainment could have been better, wasnt particulary brilliant at all to be honest but alas they did try.
As there are not many english tourists staying here we found that everything was geared either in Italian or german to cater for everyone else."

"Beautifully designed hotel, very spacious and lots to do. Our room was VERY basic and in desperate need of renovating but other guests we spoke to had lovely rooms in the newer part. We were very close to the beach which was handy. Dive centre is mostly German which caused some communication probs for us but we may have been unlucky. Staff just presume you're German as there are so many of them there but all staff speak fairly good english and are very helpful. A few people, inc myself, had and still have stomach probs even though we didn't knowingly drink water etc, so be aware and avoid salad's etc. That's the same anywhere you go in Egypt though!"
