Far enough out to be quiet but a bit of a walk to the bars and tavernas.
Great situation, we loved it!
Try a walk to the church of Santa Irina on the cliff above the hotel. 20-30 mins
very clean and pleasant hotel but also rooms are very basic,
the pool bar was not open and sunbeds had not got cushions ,making them very un comfortable.
also not worth booking b/b as cheese and ham gets very boring.
worth taking boat taxi to kamari 4euro pleasant trip and you get to have a paddle in the sea at both resorts.
all the restaurants are good but shop around for beer, between 2 and 4.5 euro half litre.
A nice little entry with very happy to help staff and will see to your needs. Friendly staff and always happy. Anna, the caretaker, cares and she will make sure she keeps thing clean in your room too! Suitable for all persons and its ideally positioned.
To sum it up, its clean, friendly and a nice location!
Beach is not far at all about 5 minutes walk but you will be amazed and gazing at the mountain that keeps you company all the way to the beach. Outside pretty much is the beginning of the trail up to the mountain for the ancient site ANCIENT THIRA and the astonishingly positioned chapel!
Basic hotel, but very clean, very friendly owner/staff and nice pool/surrounding area.
I would definitely use it again.
Ancient Thira restaurant only 2 minutes away was excellent.
The walk over the mountain to Kamari is well worth doing but start early to avoid the midday sun.

Fairly basic, but very clean, although the room didn't get cleaned every day.
Only complaint would be that they didn't allow you to take your own drinking water to the pool area! - felt their policy of only allowing food/drink bought in the hotel was taken too far with water, especially when it has health implications - hot weather and the need to keep hydrated etc.
Hotel charged 1 euro for a bottle of wate; the local supermarket charged 1.6 euros for six bottles, so stock up there.
Tried a number of restaurants both on the beach and the main street - all pretty good. If you choose any of the restaurants on the main street which runs parallel to the beach road, you'll find the quality is just as good, if not better, but the price is cheaper.
If you're thinking of hiring a quad bike, shop around to get the best rate
The hotel is basic but very clean, a bargain for the price and the owners are really welcoming and happy to help out anytime. A short walk to the beach and the shops and its far enough out of the way to make it very peaceful. i would recommend this hotel to couples who need a week or two in the sun with lots of peace and quiet.
try the 24 bakery down the street, amazing cakes and the aqua restaurant on the seafront is a great place to eat.
As we arrived at the hotel, the Reception didn't have our booking. Which took us over an hour to sort out the booking with the agency representative before we got a room. The other inconvieniece was that we had to change rooms the following morning. All becuase of this mix up, between the agency and the hotel.
The Hotel Artemis is well located, being a 5 minute walk to the beach, restaurants and main bus stop. The pool area is clean and well-maintained with lovely views of the mountains.
The rooms are small but clean, with maid service everyday. The bathroom is modern, with the advantage of an overhead clip to secure the showerhead - a real luxury in Greece! TV and fridge are included free of charge, whilst the air conditioning was a reasonable 6 Euros per night.
Although the owner of the hotel speaks little English, she is a very helpful host who always has friends and relatives around to help and translate.
This was one of 6 hotels I stayed at during my trip and is definitely on my list of ones I would return to. It represents good value for money and is perfect for anyone seeking a mixture of beach and pool-life along with sightseeing the island as a whole.
Do the walk upto Ancient Thira. The donkey path starts just across from the hotel and is well worth the sense of achievement once you reach the summit. It took 2 moderately fit people just over an hour in baking sun to get all the way to the top. There's also the precariously located church to visit approximately one third of the way up. You can then point up into the mountains and brag to the other people around the pool "See that church there, I walked up to that", making them feel terribly guilty for lazing on a sunlounger for two weeks.
OWNERS WERE VERY NICE,VERY HELPFUL WE WOULD RECCOMEND THIS HOTEL.WITH IT BEING BNB NO CHOICE SAME EVERY MORNING. POOL GOOD,GREAT VIEWS. WE WILL BE GOING BACK
ALL RESTAURANT VERY GOOD LOCALS VERY FRIENDLY N HELPFUL
Maria and her mother who run the Artemis are very sweet, and will try and accommodate your every need. The hotel is very clean, and you can have air conditioning. The accommodation and breakfasts are basic - but I guess you get what you pay for.
There is a nice pool area, and each room has a balcony - I would ask for one over looking the front.
It's five minutes walk to the beach, and all the restaurants - so perfect from that perspective.
Lava restaurant was really good - but Maria will recommend you places.
Don't eat in Atlantis - it might be cheap but there is a reason!
The Artemis Hotel was basic, very clean and extremely peaceful. Maria and her mother Artemis could not have done enough for us. We arrived to be informed that MedHotels had doubled booked us and that we were upgraded to a four star hotel further down in the resort. JoJo Hotel. We had originally booked the Artemis Hotel to ensure a quiet and relaxing holiday. JoJo's was attached to a very loud party bar/nightclub!! We refused to stay there and with lots of help from Maria and her mother were finally given a room in the Artemis. I'm so glad as the hotel turned out to be just what we expected (relaxing and peaceful). I would like to thank both Maria & Artemis for all there help in making our holiday just perfect. (Oh and thank you for the wine that you left in our room for our wedding anniverary).
God's Garden - reasonable and fantastic greek food. Don't bother with the red beach - you have to climb over rocks that are difficult to get a good footing on before arriving at a small and dirty beach!!

What a wonderful trip. Transfer was on time with nice polite driver who knew exactly where my hotel was. Fantastic hotel. Small family run and very very friendly. Arrived early and was given a choice of rooms. Rooms were spotlessly clean with bed linen changed daily. Hotel attracts mainly older people in May and as I was travelling alone, this was ideal. Pool area is lovely with lots of sunbeds and there are two bars. HOtel itself was in a lovely surrounding, away from the main road and beach front which gets very busy and noisy with mopeds and quad bikes. It's advertised on some sites as being 200 meters from the beach but it's more like 500. Only a leisurely 10 minute walk though and much better that being with all the noise. Same distance roughly to main street with lovely restaurants, shops and tavernas. Will definately be going again.
Fantastic staff at Meltemi restaurant on the beach front by the mountain (10 mins from hotel). Very friendly. Volcano restaurant along the beach front is also a definite winner. Fantastic food and friendly service. Further along the beach front is the Perissa Bay bar run by Florian. He was such a friendly guy who brings your drinks and lunches down to you on the beach that I was there every day. Also, they don't charge you for using their sun loungers and umbrellas. SOme of the organised trips are fantastic. Especially the full day including the volcano, hot springs, Thirassia Island and sunet at Oia. Don't book via your rep though. They charge 36 euro but if you go to the main street and stop at "Ankor travel" you get exactly the same for 20 euro. They also have a choice of 10 tours and appear to be the cheapest with an excellent service.
A lovely spotlessly clean and quiet family run hotel with a really warm welcome. Just a short walk from both the main street in Perissa and the beach.
You must go to Dorians Bar on the main Perissa road, the drinks prices are probably the cheapest in Perissa and the bar is one of the best in town, not to mention Dorian, he's a fantastic host and and really lovely bloke.

Run by a very friendly family. Good location. Very peaceful with only a short walk to beach, restaurants etc.
It was a good family run hotel in a peaceful part of the resort. Very pleasant although breakfast was only coffee, bread & jam basically .
Great stay, great location, lovely and friendly hosts. Big rooms with balcony and lovely pool.
Great walk/run up the nearby mountain; awesome view from the top. Cheap car hire nearby, but the nearest supermarket is a bit of a hike.
Hotel Artemis in Perrisa is just one example of the friendly welcome that we received wherever we travelled on Santorini but the family who own and run the hotel could not have been any nicer. They make every effort to help you enjoy your stay, they are always willing to help and advise. They even offered to drive us to the capital in search of medical help when one of us suffered a stomach upset. Very nice and very friendly - we would definitely go again and stay at the same hotel.
There are so many tavernas to choose from, it would be hard and unfair to single out any one and say it bettered the others - they all go out of their way to please. The one thing that realy made our holiday was the romantic sunset crusie around the Caldera from Athinios Port - Breathtaking
