Not worth the hassle! We checked in and got into our room which was awful. Really small and really realy hard beds. by the 4th night there my back was in so much pain. Our room couldnt lock and it took two days for it to finally get fixed. We tried to change rooms a few times but the staff was very unhelpful, even when trying to change the lock!
The main problem with the hotel is the chance of getting things stolen from our room! met 6 people who had cash, cameras and other valuables stolen from a safe in the room. It wasnt broken into which led them to believe it was an inside job! heard a few other cases which made us worry about our rooms therefore we took our valuables with us wherever we went which is also a risk!
Food was OK at best for a few days but a lot of the days it was really poor!
There are many other hotels in cancun nicer and regret not paying that little bit extra for a comfort.
the thai restaurant was very nice!
We really enjoyed our time in mexico, the food could have been better.
the only problem we ran into was our name was not on the pick up list for the transfer back to the airport from our hotel but the driver was nice enough to take us anyway.
thank you for a great time.
for the younger crowd the clubs were great especially the ultra and terrace club, its an open club and can watch the sun rise, absolutely amazing.
having stayed here three times before i find this a great value hotel having read some reviews i dont know what some people expect ?????? the staff always good ... room clean and always feel safe leaving stuff in room ....staff do not expect tips but welcome them ..........food average but nice expect its better in other hotels but you get what you pay for ........... excellent hotel great value for money .....going back jan 09
lady selling tours onbeach next to hotel very honest ad friendly \ isabel delta tours/
Hotel was good if you are not going to spend alot of time in the room.
Luckily for us, we were out most of the day and evening. Maids came in daily, which was good, if you don't leave a tip they show it in there way, we noticed.
The room on arrival wasn't great, loads of ants in the bathroom. I noticed them in my bed on the last night, only god knows how many ants I ate during the week of my stay. Bar that, it was okay. The grounds of the hotel I would say is okay for a budget holiday I have no complaints.
Staff were friendly at all times, but the concierge there Monica tries to sell you something that isn't quite what she said it would be, so beware. All sounds good, but when you go to claim a voucher after a presentation she's roped you into, the voucher isn't quite what she said it would be. She said we would get 3 free tickets to Coco Bongos with an open bar. We got the club and were allowed only one drink, it wasn't an open bar at all. Not so good if u r on a budget, cos drinks cost.
Bars/clubs/restaurants were like 10mins by taxi. A bar called Slices opposite Coco Bongo's have the nicest bar people going, really friendly. As we were all-inclusive we didn't really eat out at a restaurant.
Although the hotel was one of the cheapest to go to we had an amazing time. There was lots of young people staying in the hotel and the hotel organised nights out to get to the clubs and bars which made it easier and helped you get to know your way round. The rooms were basic but had everything you need and were always clean. The food in the hotel was not amazing but for the price we weren't expecting it to be.
If your going to Cancun you have to go to CoCo Bongos, its amazing the best night out ever!
had things stolen out of room.the room was crawling with bugs and ants the bar ran out of drinks often.there was no entertainment what so ever i would not recomend the dos playas hotel to anyone.
got stuff stolen from our room by the staff, along with other people there. the food was very ordinary and the staff were rude and uninterested in offering any sort of pleasant service. but saying that, we got the hotel very cheap and was all-inclusive. it is in great location on nice beach and not too far from the clubs. so i suppose we got what we paid for.
be nice and tip the bar and resturant staff or they wont even acknowledge you. dont take a tour from the hotels, they are lot cheaper from the shops in the malls or near the clubs.
Beautiful grounds, rooms basic but clean, very central for town and boat trips.
There was concern of, allegedly, some peoples belongings going missing. Luckily, my party was not effected and we used the hotel safe as there wasn't a safe in the room.
All in all it was excellent value for money and we've planning to return next year.
Coco Bongo, a Vegas experience, is a must and the hotel offer an excursion for $40. This includes transport there, entry v.i.p. and drinks all night long.
The passing busses are also a bonus, for 7pasos they're cheaper than taxis and just as quick - also they stop anywhere!
