I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Anneta hotel, , the owners were non-invasive, yet one knew they were always there and very willing to help in any way possible. I found them to be extremely friendly, helpful, welcoming and homely and with a great sense of humour., The views from this hotel are amazing and it is close to the beach and all the tavarnas. I would highly recommend this hotel to all age groups , families, couples or singles.
I found the balcony restaURAnt to be excellent. foodwise, service, and friendliness., highly recommend it
the owners a star
Went to Anneta Hotel on 7th-14th July 2009, it was standard (but it is only a 2 star), but it didn`t bother us very much as we were out for most of the time, small kitchen was a bit too basic to really cook anything, we were happy that we could have air conditioning as it got quite hot on the evenings. Very good location for the beach, shops and restaurants at Kamari, also close to the bus stop to get around the rest of Santorini!
Great little hotel, rooms cleaned and fresh towels almost every day. There is a quite steep hill from the beach but its only a hundred yards or so (and if you get quad bikes you only have to do it after an evening out). Dont know what others had to complain about with the staff but we found the owner and his son most friendly. The adjacent hotel is still unfinished but if you have a top floor room you still get great views over the town, the sea and the mountain to the side. Would definitely stay there again (but 'Wacko Jacko' fans would probably be better elsewhere )
Hiring quad bikes really made the holiday the whole island can be covered in 4/5 days and the local drivers are nowhere near as aggressive as some other Greek islands I have visited. Visit Love Boat bar at the far end of the Promenade which has Anna the best cocktail waitress on the island but beware of the Zambuka shots.
If you want 5 star then this hotel is not for you but if you want a true Greek experience then this place is a little gem. The owner is so helpful and nothing is too much trouble for him, all he asks is that you respect his place as it is also his home.
The hotel is up a very steep hill but the views from the rooftop pool are exceptional, sea to one side and mountains on the other. There is another hotel in the course of construction in front which will spoil some of the views but will be better when it is finished. Breakfast is basic but they have no objections to you taking your own items up for breakfast, ie: hard boiled eggs or ham. The room we had was very spacious and cleaned 6 times a week with nice soft towels every day and sheets changed every 3 days and each room had a full size fridge. Air conditioning was available at a small charge. All in all a great time and would return there
There is a terrific restaurant at the bottom of the hill from the hotel called The Byzantio which is all home cooked food and a great beach at Monolithos which is about 4 miles away and can be reached by the local bus.
Although we don't usually go for 5* accom and understand that Greek accomodation can seem a little basic at times, this has to be the worst by far!!! The decor looked as though it hadn't had a lick of paint since the 1950's, and we daren't enter the pool for health reasons - it had bird poo all around the ege! The balcony of the room was more like a window box, and as we slept with the doors open most nights - feeling that 7 Euro's a night was extortionate for air-con - you would either be woken by the cockerels being kept in the bulding site next door, or by your neighbours as each other's balconies were that close! The view from our window box was not of the sea as promised, but of the building site whih I guess will be another hotel next season!!! The breakfast was only fit for a Barbie doll - 3 slices of bread with jam and butter, and tea/coffee with concentrated orange juice!!! The lighting was also terrible, and on the only occasion they had attempted to clean the place, we were unable to see the wet marble floors on returning to our room one night, causing my sister to slip - fortunately a bruised elbow was the worst injury incurred!!! It is a fifteen min walk to the main town/beach, and mainly uphill! If you are really on a budget, then beggars can't be choosers, but if you can afford just that little more, then do!
Don't Book - It's awful!
Excellent hotel and great service from friendly and accomodating owner. Lovely view from our studio room.
Maybe not recommended for people who have diffilculty in walking up hills as this hotel is situated on the road up to ancient Thira. However position of view, quietness, service and excellent hospitality from owner is worth the walk!!
Would definately stay here again.
Near to ancient Thira, not far from excellent beach and hosts of good tavernas.
Hotel owner was friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and with nice view from balcony, good pool area. Fresh towels each day, would return and stay there again.
It is very easy to get a public bus from down at the bottom of the hill to Fira, it only takes 15-20 minutes and is worth doing for a night out.
