Check-in Date: 11/Jun/2010

This hotel was the worst i have stayed in for a very very long time. I currently live in cyprus therefore go away to a hotel for a weekend many times. I have 3 young children all under the age of 10, the staff here are rude and extremely arrogent not only to adults alike but also young children. My children were affraid to go to the bar 2 ask the bar staff for an ice cream as they would just shout at them n tell them to go away. I always pay all inclusive for hotels and tend to go for 3 star or above rating. This hotel is rated as a 4star and i can tell u now it is no where near i'd say its maybe pushing a 2star. The food was horrendous my children ate nothing but cucumber n lettuce for our whole week end there.
Any advise........................ STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was my visit to cyprus and i very impressed. The hotel that we stayed at was very nice, we stayed as self catering. Which was fine because we were out everyday, there are nice restuarants about in coral bay. I would happily go back for a all inclusive break tho.

Room was very clean. Only slight annoyance was the 20 Euro deposit for the iron and 30 Euro deposit for the hairdryer.

The swimming pools are really nice but the beach connected to the hotel is rocky. There is a beautiful sandy beach 5 mins walk away

Top Tip Top tips

We flew in to Paphos airport. The taxi drivers were asking 50 euros to the hotel, i managed to barter them down to 40 euros. We choose to get the bus no 12 3 euros each! And the bus stop in Coral bay is about 5 mins walk from the hotel!

Also look out for the 3.50 Euro English breakfast on the main strip

The staff were very rude and abrupt, the entertainment was minimal and the food was of a very poor quality. That said, the room was very nice and everything was clean.

Good Hotel, Good food, Rooms basic and could do with a make-over but met our needs.
Hotel right on the waters edge but not a beach, rather rocky and muddy.
Coral Bay Shops/Restaurants and pubs 5 min walk uphill from Hotel.
Coral Bay Beach just 20 min walk from Hotel.

Top Tip Hotel located right down the bottom of a Villa complex, very difficult to spot, Sign not very visible until you are right on top of it.

This hotel advertised snacks until 0000hrs. At 2240 i tried to order snacks and was told it was to late as they'd given the last sandwich out. they refused to make anymore and i was told tough! I do not really constitute a snack as a sandwich in which there was no choice of filling and to only make a few and refuse to make more was disgraceful!
I was also not happy that we got woke up at 0700 by a cleaner coming in our room on check out day. She then came back at 1030 and kept asking what time we were going to vacate. The advertised check out time was 1200 yet we felt rushed to leave.

The hotel and rooms were very clean - in fact they were always cleaning very thoroughly!
The food was really good for all meals especially the lamb and fish dishes. In the evenings there was always a soup, lots of salads, 2 or 3 meat dishes, a fish dish, a pasta dish as well as potatoes, chips, rice and veg - deserts were basic usually 2 sorts of cake and icecream. Lunch was at the pool bar and served everything from salad, baked potatoes, toasties, souvlaki, calamari, burgers to lamb and pork chops.
Breakfast was scrambled or fried eggs, sausages, tomatoes, beans, bacon, toast, fruit, yogurt, honey, cereal, cheese, cooked meats, croisants, salad and chips!
The rooms are well equipped with everything you need.
The hotel has a lot of Polish staff and a number of the guests are also from Poland so the karaoke night was interesting and fun!
Regarding the entertainment - I really enjoyed the blues brothers night although some nights the entertainment was a little basic.
Yes the hill by the hotel is a little steep and its about 5-10 minutes walk to the bus stop (1.5 euros anywhere) and the nearest bars in Coral Bay - but I have asthma and I managed it with no problems.
All in all we had a great time.

when i booked the hotel i based my booking on star rating and price, howvere what we found the price was very high for the hotel and the star rating is over rated,

i travel a lot with with my job, and i can say this hotel was worst i have ever seen, having said that its clean

Top Tip the beacah was very close but very rocky you cant walk on it or even get to the water without shoes

near the hotel there are a number of very nice and good resturants and they are only 5 minutes walk

Hotel was generally very good. Food was good and sufficient choice, staff were very good especially entertainments team. Hotel rooms were of a reasonable standard and cleaned regularly. One slight criticism of the hotel was that some of the facilities weren't quite up to standard eg Tennis Court had overgrowing bushes and the net was dilapidated. Hotel was around 20 minute walk to Coral Bay Beach which is an excellent beach and was around a ten minute walk from the main shops. The "beach" at the hotel is quite rocky and needs a bit of care when swimming there.

Top Tip Coral Bay Beach - 20 minute walk away

Might not be suitable for some older people as there is a fairly steep hill outside the hotel. I'm 60 but i'm quite fit so i personally did not have a problem. The staff in the hotel were lovely and the hotel itself was very nice although it did need a bit of updating. It was spotlessly clean and the studio we had was huge. However, there was one major downside, the evening meal. The breakfast was good as there was plenty to choose from , cereals, egg, bacon, meats, cheeses, yoghurts etc. For lunch you could have toasties, hamburgers, pizzas jacket potatoes, salads etc. The evening meal: the soups were lovely but the main course was Eastern European. I believe the chef was Polish. You could not tell what the meat was as all of it was a dark brown colour. The fish had revolting sauces on it. One night we had lamb and I nearly threw up as it was one large piece of fat on a bone cooked in funny gravy. I love Moussaka and thought I might have struck lucky when it was on the menu, not so. It consisted of a funny white sauce with aubergines and herbs, no meat, no tomatoes it was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. Even the pasta dishes had funny tastes and sauces with them. One night we had gammon, which was like having a piece of thin pink plastic to eat (that's the only way to describe it). One night we had chip salad on the menu from the leftover chips from the night before. Every night for desert was a piece of cake (from a choice of three) and ice cream {4 flavours), and some fresh fruit , apples ,oranges or kiwis at the end of the weeks holiday we had bananas. There was one cake which was absolutely scrumptious, the chocolate cake - I'm not a cake lover but this cake was divine. I lived on soup and roast potatoes (which were very nice). The drinks although local were fine. I did however have a fab holiday and would go back to this hotel on B and B basis as it was a really nice hotel apart from the food and it is the first holiday in a long time that I came home without putting any weight on.

Top Tip We went to Coral Bay for my nephews wedding and all the yooung ones went for a meal, which they said was fabulous. I don't know the name of the place, and neither did they as they were told about it by a taxi driver. They thought they were being abducted at first as the mini bus took them to a field in the middle of nowhere outside of Coral bay. They all had a fabulous meal and drinks at this farmhouse there for about £20 a head and said it was worth every penny. If you want to go just ask a taxi driver as apparantly most of them go there for meals. If you want good greek food, eat where the Greek people eat, not the tourists.
May I just say that I have had well over 12 holidays with Travel Republic and cannot fault the service and value received. I am off again with them in a few weeks to Turkey. Thank you Travel Republic.

The staff are friendly and helpful, the pool areas are fantastic, i would definately return here.

Top Tip There are many restaurants and taverns nearby and because of this there is no need for all inclusive, the entertainment at some of the bars is brilliant - especially the Millinium Bar

This hotel is a bit frayed around the edges and the food is pretty average with little variety.

Facilities generally are good, rooms decent size, staff all helpful and friendly.

Bars and restaurants are 10 mins walk but very much up hill! Paphos bus ride away but buses frequent.

Beach adjacent but not the golden sands kind!

Hotel was nice. Well worth going all inclusive. Good if you just wanna chill out in the sun by the pool. Standards were better than we expected.

Only one complaint, the so called hotels entertainment reps were the laziest people i have ever met. They did not do many of the activities advertised and the few they did ie waterpolo they had no interest in. Were to busy chatting to the mates. The hotel should save their money from their wages and put it to better use.

Top Tip the water sports next door are good.
If you want to do a boat trip try the akarmans rather than the wave dancer.

The Aquasol is a well run place and the reception staff were very helpful. Although it is about fifteen minutes walk from the excellent beach of Coral Bay, it is very close to the sea, with a great view from the bar and the pool. It is possible to swim by the hotel but there are rocks, so getting in and out of the sea can be difficult. Since Cyprus joined the Euro there has been a significant increase in prices, making the holiday rather expensive for the average self catering couple or family. Local tins of beer are now about £1.40 each and draft beer about the same price as at home. There is evidence of price fixing as it seems to cost pretty much the same everywhere. The cost of eating out for a family would be very expensive with few, if any, 'cheap' options. I cannot comment on the food at the hotel but I would not like to eat there as the restaurant is enclosed, gloomy and rather lacking in character with no option to eat on the terrace, as far as I could tell. Self catering is an option that my wife and I used on several nights but we soon tired of pitta bread, houmus, feta and salad! The rooms are a decent size but as with most places, some looked to be poorly sited without a 'view' of any description. We upgraded to a sea view and it was well worth it. If you are an independent traveller, please bear in mind that the taxi transfer from Paphos airport is currently 50 Euros each way, which adds quite a sum to the cost of your holiday

Top Tip Coral Bay beach-the sand could do with a clean but it's great for swimming and safe for children. Two sun beds and a shade for E6.40-not too bad. Bear in mind there are only two beach bars at opposite ends of the beach, so you might like to bring your own pitta breads. A large draft Heineken costs E3.80 and a tuna sald roll E5.05. I suggest you take several large bottles of water with you as buying at the beach bars is very expensive-and you will need to ensure a decent fluid intake because of the heat

Food was good on the whole but breakfast was poor.
Entertainment very poor.
Staff very pleasant and helpful.
A lot of areas were in need of re-decoration.

We had a fantastic stay! We arrived at 1AM and were greeted by a very nice friendly night receptionist who gave us a glass of orange juice while he booked us in, a welcomed treat after the flight! The rooms were great, we stayed in the 1 bedroom apt, which had all you needed and the lounge and bedroom were air conditioned - you really need this. The room was very clean and tidy and was serviced on nearly a daily basis ( I think only one day it wasn't in a weeks stay). The pool are was lovely, with views to the sea. It had 2 great pools, a small children's pool and a larger one on a lower level. The larger of the pools wasn't too deep, maximum depth 1.8m, great for anyone that doesn't like to swim in deep water. There was daily entertainment, including a Darts and Pool tournament. There was loud music played poolside in the afternoon, sometimes it was quite repetitive, but we managed to get them to turn it down, and if was only for 2 hrs. The evening entrainment was okay. We went in low season so i don't know if it'd be different in the height of summer. I consisted of a quiz and bingo. Some evenings they had dancers, singers, and a magician. We were self catering so i can't comment on the food too much. We did have breakfast on the first day, it was OK but expensive. We ate at the poolside bar a couple of times, that was really nice and served a good variety of food. There is a very steep slope / hill up to the main resort area, not good if you're not able bodied!!! The resort centre itself is really nice. This quite small, consisting of a main road and a side street. There were about a dozen restaurants, some shops and a few bars. I really liked it, but I'm not one for huge resorts. The beach by the hotel isn't anything special, but there is a nice sandy beach down the hill on the main road in the resort. There is a bus you can catch and a car park if you've hired a car...it's quite a trek there from the hotel, and you've got a few hills to deal with! Overall we really enjoyed our stay in the Aqua Sol Tourist Village, and we'd like to go back some day A*****

Top Tip Definately hire a car / jeep for a couple of days. If your interested in seeing the sites you won't do everything in a day! there is sooooo much to see in this region, really historic stuff!
