Check-in Date: 09/Jun/2010

- I booked this hotel on the basis of the highly rated feedback from previous customers. I cannot say that I would return. The food was over cooked for meat, fish and the salt content was very high. On one occasion the soup had obviously caught and had the decidedly smokey aroma/taste. Food presentation was very poor and not at all appetising. The management atmosphere I felt was that "this is how we have always run the business" and therefore why change - it felt lacking in up and go.
- The cost for internet access was quite high Euro 3.30 for 30 mins - compared with free in Gran Canaria.
- The pool bar had lots of cats roaming around and clients appeared to enjoy feeding them from their tables - I do not think that this should be encouraged.
- Again, the food presentation for breakfast and lunch could be improved.
- The choice of music in the public areas could at times be the wrong choice given the times and what age group of people were around.

We booked this particular hotel because we understood that it was for adults only however there were children and this did upset a few people many of whom had used the hotel on several occasions. Nevertheless it is a pleasant hotel, friendly and relaxing

I FOUND THE HOTEL TO BE BRILLIANT. ALL THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND UNLIKE SOME HOTELS I HAVE BEEN TO WERE SO GENUINE.
FOR EXAMPLE, WE ASKED FOR A COURTESY ROOM, NO PROBLEM, THE ALL INCLUSIVE GOES UP TILL 12 O CLOCK AND THE STAFF EVEN ASK YOU IF YOU WANT A DRINK BEFORE THE AI FINISHES !!
I CANNOT FAULT THE HOTEL, IT WAS SUPERB.

Top Tip THERE WAS A GOOD LITTLE PUB WITH THE FOOTBALL ON, SORRY CANT REMEBER THE NAME!!

Hotel is excellent for those who want to go all inclusive, as plenty of food and lots of drink provided, with excellent waiter service round pool and in bar at night.

The hotel has had a tidy up and looks good now. The food has improved 100% as have the facilities in the hotel.

Top Tip The beach at Coral Bay is a short walk away and should always be visited

We really enjoyed our holiday. We booked this hotel as it is a adults only hotel and this suited us as I was recovering from a operation. I believe the Hotel may become family friendly which I do feel would be a shame. The hotel, pool, staff were all lovely. The all inclusive package was great but the entertainment let the hotel down but we just walked up the street (5mins) and watched what entertainment was on in the local bars. A trip to Paphos on the bus was only 1.50 and the buses were all air conditioned. I would certainly love to go back to this Hotel if it remains Adults only and thanks to all for such a smooth holiday.

Top Tip Paphos Harbour and Taverners.

The hotel is excellent the design internally and externally is very good the pool area is based on an oasis the palm trees are beautiful ,the bedrooms and bathrooms are a little tired and could do with a redec. The public areas are very fresh and comfortably furnished. Restaurants very nice spacious and comfortable .Food superb excellent choices.Bar and restaurant staff excellent.English receptionist Val great.Problems ,we arrived on May 8th departed May 22nd we had a building site to live in for the two weeks JCB's running nearly every day from 7-30am untill 8-00pm. Painters walking through bedrooms for over a week paintng balconies (privacy non existant).Toxic paint fumes through out hotel for the 2 weeks.Toilets in pool area closed for 2 weeks hammering banging and drilling we thought they where building an escape tunnel to Nicosia.Toxic spirit based paint used on slabs around pool area, acid used on tiles around indoor swimming pool without area being closed to guests. On one occasion they worked through the night and where cutting tiles with a stihl saw at 3-00am.
20 feet from our room balcony, then next morning members of staf denied that they had been working during the night they said it was road works close to the hotel. Would we return to this hotel YES for certain next year hopefully when there is no work taking place . Holidays minus rugrats are wonderful no whingeing ,crying or squealing.Roll on next May.

Top Tip I am aware of the difficulty of refurbishing an all year round hotel but I feel this is what is needed to justify a four star rating in this case.
The food was good and varied and the service adequate overall the holiday was very enjoyable, thank you

I have just returned from a week stay at the Ascos with a female friend. We were both a little apprehensive given some of the reviews on the hotel.
Fortunately our fears were unfounded as we both had a fantastic time. The hotel as others have described is slightly past it's prime, however the staff do all they can to ensure that you have a great holiday and are very friendly.
The only downside for me was the antiquated gym.... the treadmill was the only semi-new piece of equipment and this was unfortnately out of action.... apparantly it has been broken since May of this year despite the assistant manager assuring me that he was unaware of the problem. Most people do not use the gym on holiday however and this was the only issue I had the whole of my stay.
The food is very good and you certainly will not be hungry. There is a great variety and the evening meals in the restaurant were of great quality.
Myself and my friend are in our 30's and found that the average age of guests staying at Ascos were 55 plus. We found the guests very friendly without being overpowering.
If you are looking for a getaway break in the sun set within beautiful grounds, leading on to a private beach with good food and drinks this is definately the place to go. Despite going in October the weather was hot and we only experienced one day of rain.
I would definately recommend this hotel, and will be a return guest in the future.

Have stayed at this hotel many times and would go back again. The entertainment is limited but apart from that everything was fine.

Top Tip Go to Coral Bay. Lovely sandy beach and very safe sea for children

I don't think this hotel is a 4* property, perhaps years ago, more a 3* hotel. Entertainment very basic. We did not explore the area as this was very much a holiday to recharge our batteries.

Very good hotel overall, but the bedrooms were looking a "little tired" with wall paper peeling from the walls and the bathrooms could need upgrading or redecorated. The saff were very friendly and helpful.

All in all pleased with the hotel. Didn't like no carpet in the room

My Travel flight was the worst we've been on for legroom.

Top Tip Coral Bay Beach looked absolutely lovely in the winter. I would think the bathing in the clear tourquoise sandy shallow bay would be heaven.in spring and summer. Lovely other beaches locally Very nice upmarket area. Something for everybody. Good chinese, italian and indian restaurants close by.
