Check-in Date: 04/Jun/2010

Hotel was pleasant and the staff were friendly. It was close to all the main attractions in Malaga and provided a good base to go out and explore.

Top Tip Look out for the good tapas bars down the side-streets - a lot cheaper and a lot tastier!

Lovely hotel updated in a quite a nice modern way but still lovely touches from the older building like the original shutters on the full length window in my room. Great location also and helpful staff. Free use of a room safe also waswelcome. I didn't have any of the food on offer

Top Tip Have a look around the covered market across the road on a saturday morning. Quite a good little supermarket right next door for suppliers like water, fruit etc

Friendly staff, lovely hotel. Only bad thing was that the walls were a little thin which meant we were a bit disturbed by our neighbours the first night but it caused no problems the rest of the stay. Would recommend this hotel.

Top Tip if you're vegetarian we GREATLY recommend the Canadu restaurant which is about 15 minutes walk north of this hotel, it was amazing.

noisy building works going on over the road with air con that rattled so you couldn't have it on at night. So a bit warm. Did not have breakfast so no comment there. Polite helpful staff

Top Tip el trillio tavern for dinner was very very good.

It was in a good location and was quiet in the evening, but the breakfast was very poor. Go out for breakfast

Check-in Date: 16/May/2009

The hotel was ideally sited in the picturesque Old Town. Our good sized room had shutters and a 'juliet' balcony, which was why we chose it. It was clean and cool, with marble floors and walls in the bedrooms.

Top Tip A very cool gastrobar called "La Moraga" is situated on Calle Fresca, a narrow side street off the north west corner of the cathedral square. I loved it's design, very modern in contrast to the olde world kitsch of other bars in the area. Go there.

Excellent location within walking distance of the train station and all the main sights. Very helpful staff who recommended excellent places to eat.
Comfortable room - well equipped and everything worked!

Top Tip Five minutes from the bus stop for the delightful Jardin Botanico La Conception - the perfect place to while away a hot afternoon.

Very friendly and helpful receptionist. Room elegantly furnished, though window only gave out onto the corridor - could have become a little claustrophic if staying for longer. Overall, very good impression and great value!

Our hotel is full of character, being a modernised nineteenth century building in the heart of Malaga's traditional quarter. It's very near the main street and bus stop for the airport, shops, the bus and railway stations and a short walk to the beach, fort and many museums and art galleries. The only disadvantage was my unheated single room; it wasn't clear in the publicity that it wouldn't be heated. I coped by having a very hot shower every night, and filling my hot water bottle. When a faulty lock required my removal to a heated double room it was a relief.

Top Tip Contemporary Art Centre, Malaga, full of interesting exhibitions
El Tren - a great breakfast cafe
Museum of arts and popular culture
Museum of Wine, with tasting opportunities
Christmas decorations in the main street and shopping precinct: never seen such a magnificent display

Reservation staff were very helpful, they were happy to give directions in English etc.

The breakfast area needed more staff as the one person was unable to keep up with clearing tables and replenishing food.

Location of hotel was handy for restaurants and old town although street noise was constant.

It was a twenty minute walk to the train or bus stations.

Top Tip Make sure you find the old centre of Malaga to the north of the hotel and not just the dodgy foreshore area.

It was a lovely hotel and our flights went very smoothly. Waiters in the hotel were lovely, and reception staff were polite. Hotel was ina great location as we were near all the places to eat and the old town.

Top Tip Malaga is small enough to wander around in 2-3 days and enjoy the old town, beach and shops

Lovely hotel, ideal location for the main town, castle & port. Hotel has a map with 3 short walks to follow. Breakfast is basic but enough.

Top Tip Lots of really nice restaurants if you weave through the streets off main shopping street.
