Excellent hotel , our 8th stay and looking forward to returning soon
first rate hotel perfect staff ideal for a relaxing holiday
plenty of interesting things around the hotel but found little need to leave the hotel itself
We have stayed at the Athina Royal Beach in Paphos seven times and always found it to be excellent.
The service we received with travel republic was very good, they used Direct Hotels.com for accomodation, and Direct Transfers, and both were excellent, including good service from the rep.
excellent hotel and really enjoyed the stay
Our 2nd stay at this hotel. Very good quiet situation within walking distance of centre of Paphos. Not too large, well maintained with 3 pools and gardens down to sea front. We had a side sea room which was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Staff were excellent - all very helpful and attentive. Food great especially breakfasts and we upgraded for 4 nights to half board at a very reasonable price. Would definitely stay there again.
Well worth hiring a 4x4 so you can visit the Akamas Peninsula which is a lovely unspoilt nature reserve not far away.
Taverna Konia in small village of Konia on outskirts of Paphos does fantastic local food & wine at a very good price - large meze for 2 with wine 30 euros.
Local firm (Holiday Taxis) used were transfer from were the only low point of our holiday. Recommend that Travel Republic uses another company.
The hotel was excellent, clean, polite staff and good facilities. No kids which suited us perfectly. We are in our late twenties and were by far the youngest people there however this didnt matter as all of the guests seemed very friendly and we spent much of our time out seeing the sites and on the beach. The only bad thing was the price of the drinks in the hotel at dinner and at the hotel bars which were 4 to 5 times more expensive than in the bars on the main road.
The excursions are a good idea however we found that the best archiological site on the whole island was on our doorstep in the Pahos harbour area with lots of fully intact mosaic floors and a complete amphitheatre. My only other tip would be not to go in November due to the rain - I think October is the best comprimise as its not peak season but the weather is still great.
nice hotel, clean, friendly staff, everything you needed there pretty much
harbour area at night!
If your looking for a totally relaxing time on holiday then this hotel is for you , plenty of sunbeds by the pools or in the garden area or on the beach. As this hotel is an adults hotel (17 years+) there wasn't any screaming and hollering coming from the pools, in fact I think the busiest the pool got was when there was about six people in it.The food was of a decent level but I did feel a little rushed by the waiters on some occasions at evening meal time. The room was fine if a little small but the shower was great (just what you want after a hard days sunbathing). I didn't think much of the evening entertainment but with the harbour just a short taxi trip away it wasn't that much of a problem
Very nice Mexican and Chinese restaurants , can't remember their names but they were up a flight of steps above a pub called the white horse almost opposite the sister hotel (Athena beach Hotel)
Excellent hotel, food was above average & lots and lots of it!!
All staff very friendly and gave us a room upgrade to full sea view room with robes, wine and fruit. Would go back again as this hotel was fab!
Opposite is a lovely sea food restaurant & resonably priced too.
Water park within walking distace & bus oytside goes direct to Coral Bay.
An outstanding hotel creating a restful environment for the stay.
Using the buses or walking along the pleasant beach path into town, will help you avoid the numerous time share sellers.
Hotel was clean and tidy.It is ideally suited for retired couples. It lacked atmoshere, the food was average at best, the entertainment was very poor.
We had a room with a view of the wasteland beside the hotel but we could see the water from the corner of the balcony.
There was no music anywhere during the day,not by the pool or on the terrace. A little background music would definitely helped.
This hotel is definitely suited for the over 65s
Most of the Staff were friendly and courteous.
Hotel is fantastic and staff are wonderfully friendly. More suitable for older people.
Turn right out of the hotel and head away from Paphos centre - some fantastic newer restaurants within 1 km. Also try Hondros Taverna by the harbour - fantastic food.
This hotel fully lived up to what other people have said. Relatively small and quiet, it does things effortlessly. Compared to hotels in Tenerife, check-in took less than 5 minutes. The staff were uniformly friendly and exceptionally helpful. Service was excellent and the food was varied and of a very high quality. My wife and I are in our mid-50's and we were amongst the youngest guests. One of the many advantages of this was that there was never a rush for sunbeds!! We love our children and grandchild, but the fact that the hotel was for for people aged 16+ did make for a very quiet and relaxing holiday. We will definitely be returning to the Athena Royal.
The world heritage centre in Paphos is a real must see and is easily walkable from the hotel, particularly along the beach path.
Excellent hotel for all food and amenities - Brilliant!
The Rib Shack Restaurant - Excellent Food
We found the hotel, just that a hotel, the staff are just doing a job, and if you like brussell sprouts for your breakfast this is the place for you, also on offer is deep fat cooked bacon lovely!.Nice and quite if like to just lay around the well kept pool and gardens
vienna restuarant in the town the best food in the area, accross the road from starbucks for the best coffee
A truly excellent rayed hotel, deserving all of its star rating.
the gourmet Taverna at the Harbour area is well worth dinning at
Hotel very clean, staff really friendly and would definately return again.
Captain Hook Pub opposite the hotel, and when you turn left out of the hotel the restuarants within 100m of the hotel are all nice.
