Flying to Limnos
Lemnos can rightfully claim to have some of the finest beaches in the north-west Aegean. Certainly the island has, in addition to the natural beauty of its landscape a people whose attitude toward the visitor is both warm and welcoming. Add to these attributes, an excellent cuisine, and a slow pace of life (this is an island that has not been overwhelmed by tourism) and you have a holiday destination that is second to none.
There are some 30 villages scattered around the island, of which the most picturesque, perhaps, is Kaspakas, high in the hills just a few kilometres from Myrina , the islands beautiful capital.
Amongst the many superb beaches brushing the crystal azure waters on Lemnos, Agios Ioanannis , Plati Beach, and Thanos Beach could be said to stand out, all of them wonderfully sited and with lovely and extensive sands.
Although Lemnos has not been developed to the extent of many of the Greek holiday islands, you can find, if you are looking for it, a satisfying nightlife in the Myrina, where there are ample restaurants and lively bars many playing that special Greek music that can add so much more to your holiday experience.
