Samos is the most visited island of the North-Eastern Aegean Islands, but nevertheless retains its beauty and its calm. In the city, the square of Pythagoras, stands out with its marble lion. Also in the centre you can see the old mansion of the parliament, which also houses the town hall with the municipal art gallery.
For swimming the nearby pebbly beaches of Gakos and Roditses are recommended while outside of the city the beaches of Psili Ammos, Kerveli, Klima and Poseidon are well worth visiting.
