Flying to Samos
Samos is the most visited island of the North-Eastern Aegean Islands, but nevertheless retains its beauty and its calm. It is a particularly green island which has kept much of its impressively green forest. But busy resorts, crowded beaches, intensive nightlife in addition to secluded coves, picturesque villages and peaceful places can be found in Samos. Its idyllic beaches of pure white sand and crystal waters complement the lovely landscapes of the island,. Samos has something for everyone: busy beach resorts and, in its hinterland, unspoiled villages and terrific mountain vistas.
Apart from its beautiful landscapes and its traditional character, Samos is also known for its excellent wine which is made from the local Muscat grapes. G The capital of the island is situated at the harbor and stretches out to a picturesque cove and a green bay from which it got its name. In the city, the square of Pythagoras, stands out with its marble lion. Also in the centre you can see the old mansion of the parliament, which also houses the town hall with the municipal art gallery.
For swimming the nearby pebbly beaches of Gakos and Roditses are recommended while outside of the city the beaches of Psili Ammos, Kerveli, Klima and Poseidon are well worth visiting.
