Flying to Zante
Zante, also known as Zakynthos, is one of the largest Ionian islands and just 8.5 miles from the island of Kefalonia. An island rich in history dating back to 1500 BC, from the Achaeans through to Roman times and more recently the Venetians. A beautiful green island with many attractions it is even possible to catch a glimpse of Loggerhead Turtles gathering to lay their eggs on the southern shores. The landscape is one of green slopes, olive groves and craggy coasts interspersed with beautiful white beaches. Once described by the Venetians as the 'Flower of the East' this charming island has all the ingredients for a great holiday.
Zante can be a wonderful destination for families. There are great beaches all around the island being the ones on the east the best for children. The most popular beaches are Alikes, Alikanas, and Argasi. On the west part, the cliffs falling into the sea make the beach inaccessible; you can swim at the Navagio, a beach created around an actual shipwreck that can only be reached by boat, and at the Limnionas lagoon.

“ The Plessas Palace is a very nice hotel run by a lovely family. The rooms are a good size with bedding and towels changed every 3-4 days. New friends are easily made in the new bar with the help of Nikos the crazy barman. Close to a good choice of bars and restaurants and the beach is around 1000 metres away. I will be returning for my 3rd stay in June, what better recommendation!

The Sunflower Apartments are located in quiet area of the famous resort of Laganas, surrounded by beautiful countryside and are set off the main road with just a short walk to the centre of Laganas and its excellent beach. The peaceful setting will appeal to families and couples who want accommodation that is quiet and relaxing but close to all the action of the Laganas resort.
“ Had alovely time here the owners were very helpful, the rooms were frequently cleaned the pool was a nice size and clean, very near to the beach and night time entertainment if your a party goer, if not far away enough not to here the nitelife but still close enough to nice quiet restaurants. Had a really good time and would definetly stay there again.

The hotel is located in the popular family resort of Tsilivi, 4km due north of Zakynthos town. All rooms are spacious and decorated in a modern fashion, they are fresh and breezy with balconies overlooking the surrounding area. It is a cluster of 2 storey maisonette style buildings in the popular ochre earth colour scheme of the Ionian, there is also a separate area where the self catering studios and the more exclusive villas are located within the same complex.
