Very nice hotel first class food set in small port very spainish
Try the resturants in the port all very good
My wife & I have stayed at The Blau before and returned there to jointly celebrate our 50th birthdays. We are well travelled having spend many years living abroad in various continents and return to the Blau because its a short flight and an easy drive so our holiday starts on the same day as we leave the Uk.
The hotel is a casual and not a stuffy 5 star with friendly staff, excellent facilities (tennis, spa 3 pools, 2 beaches in coves all set in a pine forest on two headlands) and the upgrade to a suite was fantastic.
Large and very good dining facilities with a real mix of dishes to suit all ages, tastes and nationalities. We stayed half board - a first as we enjoy trying the local restaurants on holiday - and found it good but not great.
The whole area of Porto Petro is laid back and small has so has a non tourist feel to it. Avoid Cala D'Or over the hill.
Car hire is recommended to explore both the ocal area and the island.
Favourite places - Palma, Porto Colom, El Faro, Arta market.

Cala Mondrago is walkable from the hotel and is beautiful
Great Hotel - Great Location - Very pleasant harbour within a 5 min walk. Well worth its 5 stars.
Food in the hotel is fantastic!
However, the hotels many bars are like a ghost town come 8pm. This may be due to the over inflated bar prices. Eg, 2 x G&T + 1 coke = 21 euro's.
Wine and soft drinks are included with your meals based on a HB basis.
Will certainly go back.
A 2 min walk on the main approach to the hotel is small traditional spanish restaurant. It seems many residents either visit there or the 3 bars facing the harbour after dinner.
We had a good time - but I must say that the service in the hotel was appalling. Reception was poorand the service around the pool restaurant/bar was really bad even though the hotel was not even half full.
Plenty of complaints from lots of customers.
The local bars of Porto Petro were very welcoming and worth a visit
This hotel was absolutely amazing one of the best European hotels we have stayed in. The food and staff were beyond expectation.
It was not clear on booking that wine and soft drinks were included with dinner and we paid for wine for the first 2 nights before we realised.
The best Hotel that we have ever stayed in, everything was spot on, the food was excellent, the room was superb, highly recomended
Excellent hotel and very peaceful- a little too quiet for many. Great staff and immaculate hotel with excellent food. It is expensive but value for money.
All the retaurants in the harbour area provided a lovely lunch for around 40 euros per couple compared to 100 euros in the hotel. HB was perfect in this sense. Also there is nothing for children after 6pm so hire a car
