The Corbeta bungalow we stayed in was in need of an update. Decor was tired and generally drab, for example the fridge looked like it had been painted, the built in dish drying rack was really rusty, the blankets and sheets on the beds, although clean, were a bit threadbare. Towels in the bathroom were, on some days, also a bit ragged. On the plus side the place was well cleaned each day. A bit of a disappointment but probably good enough value for the money involved. It took us a good 10 min to walk to the beaches at Playa Blanca. Taxi fares to and fro cost between 4 and 5 euro (£4 to £5 approx) so steep enough for a short journey at today's exchange rates. Also everything seems more expensive in this part of Lanzarote - but maybe that's the euro again.

We had a fantastic stay at the hotel corbeta.. I travelled with my grandaughter husband and 2 children aged 10 and 6.. We could not of found a better holiday.. I had to use a wheelchair to get about and we found the hotel easy to get around.. The food at the hotel was great and there was plenty to choose from.. The all inclusive basis was really good with bottles of wine on the table ready to drink lunchtime and dinner.. and self service soft drinks, beer, coffee rolls, ice cream were unlimited too in the pool bar.. we used this rather than eating at lunchtime in the restaurant.. The pool area was fantastic with two of the pools being heated.. The slides were great!! !! The childrens entertainer Elvis was lovely the children enjoyed the mini club and we all enjoyed the mini disco at night.. To top it all the sun was out for most of the holiday!!

Top Tip We hired a car for the two weeks as I couldnt walk very far.. Playa Flamingo beach was my favorite which was about a twenty min walk so my grandaughter told me.. We had a lovely meal at the chinese restaurant down there looking over the beach..

It all depends on what you call 'near' but the beach and restaurants are within 10 - 15 minutes walk which I call near. The 'casita' was very nice and clean but not very well equipped - however any and everything that you might want was available to hire. The pools are beautiful and very clean.

Top Tip Best restaurants in Playa Blanca are El Horno de Abuela, La Romantica, El Galeon and La Terracita. For a fantastic Sunday lunch try the Bodega in Uga.

Lovely welcome on arrival - friendly staff. Food was excellent and the all inclusive package worked really well for us. Accommodation was clean and well maintained. Sun shone and we had a lovely holiday. Shuttle transfers worked well.

Top Tip Playa Blanca is a great place to be located - many good restaurants - ideal for fish lovers.

Wonderful stay in a very friendly hotel. All the staff were so helpful and friendly . Our bungalow was cleaned and beds remade every day of our three week stay except on Sundays. We had booked accommodation only but ate frequently in the main restaurant and the self service food was always very tasty with lots of choice.Better again was the fact that dinner cost only €11 and breakfast €5.
It was only a 10 minute walk to the town centre and Playa Blanca beach. The hotel also has a free minibus shuttle to the beach.
Most guests were Spanish or German with a few English and Scandanavians and everyone mixed very well. The heated pool was a welcome bonus especially for the young families and sunbeds were plentiful and comfortable.
If you want a friendly well run hotel this is the one for you.

Top Tip We loved our early morning walks along the beautiful 4 mile long promenade and the unspoilt beaches at Papagayo.
Our favourite restaurant was Tipico Canaria in the old town.
A climb up Montana Roja gives incredible views over to Fuerteventura and Los Lobos - best early in the day before the heat gets too much.

All rooms are bungalows in small groups of four. Each consists of a sitting room, bedroom (with the largest bed I've ever seen) and bathroom. Kitchen area within sitting room consists of 2 rings, fridge, microwave and sink and NO Kettle. These are much bigger than a typical hotel room. However, do remember they are 1 bedroom bungalows and not spacious detached villas, the impression given from outside. Each property had outside space including 2 sun loungers, table and 2 chairs.
The pool area was outstanding! Although I didn't go in because I was feeling unwell, one pool was heated another had slides into it. The area was cleaned everday and lots of sunbeds everywhere.
We hired a car from the airport and was very easy to find. When checking in get a trolley to take suitcases as rooms can be a long way from reception. There is a lift to go down from reception. Ask where it is. Couldn't believe the number dragging cases up and down stairs. There is a shop on site selling basic supplies, dearer than local shops. It is a good walk into town or beaches. As I said we had the car and got all round the area very quickly.
We didn't try the hotel food. Some where saying it was very nice, so it might be worth trying early in Holiday and make your own mind up.

Would we go again ..... yes however I do think we got a very good price. I understand that some were paying 3 times the price we were. Would I go for 3 times the price I paid? I think I might feel it was a bit to expensive for what it is.

Although a little dated, we found it clean and offered clean towels and sheets as often as we wanted them. The bungalows are in nicely kept gardens and spaced out so you dont feel on top of one another. We were self-catering and tried the resturant a couple of times which we enjoyed. It is really good value for money. We wouldnt hesitate in going again.

Top Tip The town was a short walk away about 15mins, really nice place. There are several lovely walks you can go on from one end of playa blanca to the other. We Found a lovely chinese resturant excellent value for money called 'Jasmine' in the town. Average meal for two costs 22 euros including drinks.

We went all inclusive and the food, drink and service was excellent. Bottle of wine with every meal (except breakfast), Italian restaurant excellent. Appartments were basic but clean.
Evening entertainment was rubbish unless were over 65 years old. Anne & Pat.

Top Tip Take a 15 minute walk to town plenty of bars and excellent Restaurant Cervantes, try the steak. You can get the shuttle bus service (free) to the beach and Marina, worth a trip if weather ok, weather was overcast windy when we went in December.

Hotel Corbeta......... Lovely Superior Junior suite, rooms kept clean although not sure how often they swept under the beds ! The entertainment was not brilliant, more suited to older people ie ballroom dancing or line dancing. The food was not good at all, if you like salads every night (because there's not much else) thats ok. Most of the food wasn't very hot on the buffet either, we stayed a week and ate out four times. We stayed on the all inclusive (light) very very light ! Would definately not go all inclusive again unless it was a five star hotel. On a whole, would not go back to this hotel but would go to Playa Blanca again.

Top Tip Some nice shops, plenty of bars and restaraunts and the promenade is beautiful and very clean.

The out door swimming pools are excellent but unfortunately only one is heated. When we where here in November the remaining swimming pools were very cold and so un used by all, with everyone in the smaller heated pool.

Top Tip The hotel free bus to the local beach is an excellent service

The hotel rooms were awfull there was a cockroach dead on the floor for a week by the window with she never cleaned, the televison didnt work, the fridge was falling apart with rust all around it and there was a big whole in the wardrobe and we could see the floor so we were unable to hang our clothes in there as it smelt really damp.

We were the only english people in the hotel and no 1 rarely spoke to us in english and the staff were very rude, i would not advise anyone to stay at this hotel.

Playa blanca is a lovely place, and although we were all inclusive found ourselves catching a taxi in to playa blanca every night to eat as the food was that bad in the hotel, luckly the taxi was only around 3 euros, I would recommend playa blanca but NOT this hotel.

Top Tip Tex Mex at the marina rubicon

We have been to this hotel before 4years ago so we knew what to expect. Although it is set slightly back from the main shops it is worth the walk. Pools are very clean and well serviced. The children had great fun on the slides. Entertainment was on every night and this was also to a high standard. The apartments were a lot busier than previously and tended to be full with Germans, Dutch, Spanish and French only 3 British families there when we were there. But this was not a problem and everyone friendly and approachable. Beautiful reception area with pleasant and efficient english speaking staff. Would recommend this complex.

Top Tip Jasmine Chinese restaurant beside the main taxi rank and the Tandoori restaurant situated up a side street beside the Spar. Use hotel mini bus to get to the Dorada beach its lovely and clean.

The luxury rooms are very good, the bath has a jacuzi, free tv, mini fridge. Cleaned daily except Sunday.
Excellent pool area with 2 waterslides. Choice of buffet restaurant or pizzera for guests on half board or all inclusive. The food choice was good and hot but repetitive with frozen veg and pre packed uniformly sliced meats, chips and canarian potatoes every day. Usually 2 fish dishes every day which was good. Reasonable salad choice.
Fruit juice and tea, coffee machines were a joke, long queues and breakdowns.
The staff were ok and occassionally smiled. The hotel is a good 15 minute walk to any shops, bars, restaurants, beach, ect. It has 30 steps from reception down to the apartments, with no help with the luggage. The hotel is mainly full of Germans and Spanish, l was the only English person when l went, which l don't mind. However, l would go back.

Top Tip Don't go to the Irish bar, rip off prices, 3.5 euro for a beer.
Try the Chinese restaurant, very cheap and the beer is better.

We had an OK stay at Hotel Corbetta for 4 nights. The hotel is mainly for the spanish and german tourists, hardly any english. Most of the spanish were over 60 yrs. The food was not brilliant but edible, sometimes a little on the cold side in the evening but a good selection, desserts were nice. Breakfasts were much better, lots of choice, from egg and bacon, rolls, croissants, ham and cheese, fruit and cereals. The accomodation was very good, the apartments were in bungalow format and have recently been refurbished to a good standard. On the whole we had a good holiday for the price we paid £170 half board for 2 people for 4 nights.

Top Tip We visited the really expensive hotels, Princess Yaiza and Hotel Timafaya and had a drink and watched the entertainment for free.
