We found the accommodation very suitable for a couple - very quiet at this time of year obviously and would be better in season when one could use the outdoor pool.
Looked a very good playground for younger childen.
About five minutes walk to the beach for a fit couple - would be longer if taking a buggy (down the road - as not really a good path for wheels.
We ate in one night - restaurant nice but quite expensive. The room service we tried when tired but very basic: sandwiches and omelette.

Good proximity to nature reserve.
Three restaurants on the beach - about ten minutes away: two were shut but the third was open and excellent. Several restaurants about 30 minutes+ away along the beach, westwards
We suggest better signage would be helpful - it was really quite difficult to find our way there the first time.

The Apartment Hotel Formosa Park offers very good standard 4-star accommodation meaning that one can be independent and self-cater, or use the excellent bar and restaurant facilities. The pool is excellent (albeit cold in April) and the gardens very attractive. Breakfast is normally included in the restaurant and is superb - offering both continental and 'British' options.
An attractive feature is the access through the back gate to the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and Ancao beach - straight on to the Atlantic Ocean! Good for wildlife, bird-watching, walking etc.
Only one slight issue - it would be good to have a microwave in apartment, rather than just an electric hob. Shops and restaurants are about ten minutes drive away. Overall a very pleasant stay, staff are extremely helpful and all speak English.

Beach and Nature Reserve plus a couple of lakes about half-hour walk away.

Very well run; very pleasant staff.
